DVD release: LETHAL FORCE

Many moons ago, MICRO-FILM (and several other film magazines and Web sites hip to the cause) unleashed props on a scrappy little action indie called LETHAL FORCE, filled to the brim with fisticuffs and honest-to-goodness laughs. Thanks to the tenacious dedication of its director, Sir Alvin D. Ecarma, and the worldly enigma that is its poker-faced star, Cash Flagg, Jr., the movie finally receives its official home video release today courtesy of Unearthed Films. And we all breathe a sigh of relief.

Produced in 1999-2000, LETHAL FORCE shows what happens as ace hit man Savitch (Cash Flagg, Jr.) goes to bat for his friend Jack (Frank Prather) when the latter’s wife and child are kidnapped by the evil Mal Locke (Andrew Hewitt), and in this movie’s case, execution is everything - so to speak. ”It’s been a frustrating go of it,” said Sir Al in yesterday’s press release, “but we finally made it through the distribution gauntlet without too much damage. We thank Unearthed Films for believing in the film and standing by it 100%.”

The DVD features a cast-and-crew commentary and barely-ever-seen-before short films, along with the knock-out cover artwork that you see below. MICRO-FILM endorses LETHAL FORCE - and not necessarily the New Concorde flick of the same title or that which keeps occuring in Iraq - and encourages you to check it out. Our man L. Rob Hubbard is set to file a report on Sir Al and his epic for our upcoming one-shot, Backyard Cinema.
