Did my presence in C-U in last week rattle the rafters like a JURASSIC PARK T-rex? After a near-radio silence from not only you, you, and you as well in “the scene” on all matters C-U film, I’ve apparently shook loose a few updates about C-U doings. Our friend Sanford Hess, curator of “The Arthouse Experience” film series at the Virginia Theatre in downtown Champaign, reminds us the Oscar-contending fantasy EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE will be their next film on Weds., Mar. 8, at 7 p.m. Our friend Dr. May Berenbaum, esteemed entomology professor at the University of Illinois, invites us to the 40th Insect Fear Film Festival tomorrow, Sat., Mar. 4, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Foellinger Auditorium on the Urbana Main Quad; details for this outing are below and one click away. Also, our new friend Robert Patrick Stern, a Chicago-based cinematographer of stylish genre fare like REVEALER and THE STYLIST, encourages those of us who want an entry point into the production industry to sign up for the second localized session of the Central Illinois Film & TV Production Training presented by the Illinois Film Office and our own Shatterglass Studios; deadline to apply is Sun., Mar. 19. Time to go, go, and go!
