FIELD REPORT DU HQ | From Wherever It May Be Said
Last week, we had basement flooding at MFHQ Deux thanks to storms and no power, and this week, we have no hot water thanks to further storms, basement flooding, and no power, so we can’t exactly win versus the elements right now. At least the electricity flows freely in the sunny calm and we can post once again from our usual roost. Therefore, indie activity is afoot in this week’s Report! First, Into the Night Motion Pictures of Normal has announced the premiere of their found footage shocker, HUNTING FOR THE HAG, will haunt the Normal Theater on Friday, May 12; an Indiegogo blast from yesterday confirms the entire cast and crew is attending and the showtime has yet to be set. And then, producer and CUBlog friend Brian Crowdson let us know that DON’T LET ME STAY, a psychological thriller made in the Springfield-Bloomington region by director Aaron London Thomas and friends, is now available for viewing at Amazon Prime. Leveling up, several filmmakers including the C-U’s John Isberg (FINAL SUMMER) and Springfield’s Ash Hamilton (HOLES IN THE SKY: THE SEAN MILLER STORY) have committed to an upcoming horror anthology called TALES FROM THE END TIMES; Hamilton recently discussed his segment with the Jacksonville (IL) Journal-Courier, which will film in that Illinois city on April 22-23, and other talents who will contribute portions to the show include Dillon Brown (TAHOE JOE) and Joshua Brucker (MOTHMAN). Far from last or least, busy producer and makeup artist Jessie Seitz (JAKOB’S WIFE) of Decatur has revealed her newest personal project, MONSTER GIRLS, which will celebrate the role of women in her special-effects field; supporters can follow along on the Web and socials, which should include a fundraising campaign to launch in the coming weeks. Slay, everybody!
