CRAB ORCHARD makes DVD debut

Thanks to a tip from C-U Blogfidential agent “Wild” Bill Kephart, we can report that the Dreamscape Cinema feature film CRAB ORCHARD has been released to home video. While it isn’t the fully-packed edition one might have expected, the Region 1 DVD issued by the Champaign studio finally gives local folks a chance to own a copy of this locally-made production. (For those who can’t keep the Dreamscape filmography straight, given its relative absence from the domestic market up until this point, ORCHARD is “the one with Ed Asner and Judge Reinhold.”) Go to this page where you can purchase it for a limited-time discount.

A message to CUBlog from Dreamscape Cinema president and CRAB ORCHARD writer/producer Robin Christian confirmed that the DVD is a movie-only disc. Bells and whistles will apparently be saved for a commercial release through a distributor, per Christian, of which several are currently giving the family drama a fresh look. ORCHARD has been available in foreign territories for a while, although the studio recently gave it a fresh edit and changed the title to SO OTHERS MAY LIVE in anticipation of their current sales push. The new name is excerpted from the firefighters’ motto and references the vocation of Reinhold and Christian’s characters in the film.

Further questions about SO OTHERS MAY LIVE can be directed to robin [at] dreamscape [dot] bz.
