IOW: Make it a scene, Lorene!

Yet another self-made music video shimmies forth from the Champaign-Urbana woodwork, so who are we at C-U Blogfidential to deprive our dearest readers of its pleasures? This winning effort features the ditty “Jump Back” from springtime release April’s Empire, the second full-length album by eclectic ensemble The Duke of Uke and His Novelty Orchestra, and is directed by the septet’s tuba player Lorene Anderson. The Orchestra brings an infectious funk-ragtime fusion to the table as it bops about a public garage; while founder Dave King inevitably materializes by song’s end, it is live wire Anderson who steals the show. Singing lead vocals and shaking booty with abandon, she ladles so much sweet sassafras over the whole thing you’ll be wiped out (except for the smile on your face) when their four minutes are up:

The operative phrase describing this “Image of the Week,” girls and boys, is “Whew!
