To JUMP IN is highly Predestined

We take a slight geographic detour this outing as a brand-new Springfield movie project joins the ranks! Predestined Arts & Entertainment’s feature debut JUMP IN will be unveiled tonight, Saturday, March 2, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. Sixth St., Springfield, after more than a year in production under the careful watch of director, writer, and executive producer Kimberly D. Conner. Following her topical dramatic short THIS LIFE AIN’T PRETTY from two years ago, this “drama with a hint of comedy” follows an ambitious single mother named Troy Alexander (Sheree Bynum) who returns to her hometown in the hopes of putting a broken marriage in the past as well as studying to pass the bar. Her friends match up Troy with middle school math teacher Malik Bond (Dingani Beza) despite her inner convictions that she can fend for herself and son Jordan (Mesiyah Oduro-Kwarten) without a love interest. Soon after, Troy’s mettle is tested greatly when her ex-husband, family rifts, and health concerns threaten to derail her new life plan. Michael Higgenbottom, Kevin Craig West, Mel Roberson, Karen Malina White, Thea Camara, and THIS LIFE lead Danielle Ward fill out the primary cast of JUMP IN. Below is the release trailer:

A red carpet procession will begin at 6 p.m. to be followed by the screening at 7 p.m. Tickets will cost $10 with a portion of proceeds earmarked for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, a fundraising program of the American Cancer Society. You can read more about the movie and creator Conner, herself a breast cancer survivor, at the official JUMP IN Web page through which you can pre-order copies of the feature. Up-to-date news about JUMP IN will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
