IOW: ART NOW! talks NAFF ‘13

This past week, your humble editor had the pleasure of making his long-form television debut on the Urbana Public Television (UPTV) program, ART NOW! Congenial host Greg Chew, a retired Urbana High School drama teacher and executive director of the 2013 Illinois High School Theatre Festival, sat down with me, Lisa Cerezo, and Luke Boyce in the auditorium of Champaign’s Art Theater Co-op to discuss all things New Art Film Festival including its origin and the upcoming fourth edition on April 12. We also touch upon Champaign Movie Makers, Champaign-Urbana Film Society, Psychic Joker Entertainment, Georges Méliès and HUGO, the advent and impact of high-quality consumer video, and other fascinating tidbits we won’t reveal here! (However, look fast for the spectral form of Art general manager Austin McCann floating around in the background.) ART NOW! Episode 32 runs a half hour; you can either stream it below or catch it on UPTV via Comcast Channel 6 during the next two weeks. Here are the remaining air dates:

Monday, March 18, 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 19, 11 p.m.
Monday, March 25, 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 26, 11 p.m.

Feel free to share this with friends, filmmakers, and out-of-towners as a concise primer to understanding your friendly neighborhood NAFF!
