Originally scheduled as a complement to the annual <strong>Boneyard Arts Festival<\/strong> of <strong>Champaign County<\/strong> in large part due to that event\u2019s lack of film and video content, the NAFF has been hosted by the <strong>Art Theater<\/strong> in downtown <strong>Champaign<\/strong> for all its shows to date. After producing and emceeing nine editions over the same number of years, Pankoke was forced to cancel the tenth NAFF when the Art closed for business in October 2019. Its future is being debated. Its purpose was to offer the community a lively sampler of what the movies made locally in downstate <strong>Illinois<\/strong> looked like at the time. Having recently spun off <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">C-U Confidential<\/span><\/strong> from <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MICRO-FILM<\/span><\/strong> as its own print entity, the public outreach made perfect sense to Pankoke given that no exhibitions of the sort existed in <strong>Champaign-Urbana<\/strong>.
