Isn\u2019t it about fucking time, darlings, for you to give THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL<\/strong> a second chance if you didn\u2019t exactly warm to this art house event movie upon first viewing back in 2014? The wonderfully stylish and idiosyncratic comedy-mystery, playing on Sat., 5\/28, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, at the Virginia Theatre<\/strong>, receives our \u201cFOW<\/strong>\u201d stamp of approval and will conclude the past week\u2019s sampling of director Wes Anderson<\/strong>\u2019s oeuvre<\/em> that also included RUSHMORE, THE ROYAL TENNENBAUMS<\/strong>, and FANTASTIC MR. FOX<\/strong>. Otherwise, we go against the grain of this Calendar<\/strong> category and suggest you break from the motion picture frame for good long stretches this holiday weekend to spend quality time with friends and loved ones, because you should. In that respect, we also invite you to say goodbye to our preferred alternative screening venue in downtown Champaign<\/strong> on Saturday; head over to 105 N. Market St.<\/strong>, just two blocks from the Virginia, and party until the last \u201clast call\u201d like you really<\/em> mean it. Afterwards, it\u2019s R.I.P. for Mike n\u2019 Molly\u2019s<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (1997-2016), plus the character and soul it brought to our stomping grounds du C-U.<\/p>\n
