The nearly finished result, dubbed <strong>RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: THE ADAPTATION<\/strong>, eventually developed a cult reputation among connoisseurs of the obscure, encouraging the now-adults to regroup and attempt to finish a quarter-century later what they had started. If previous articles and the same-named book covering the history of this epic remake are any indication, <strong>RAIDERS! THE STORY OF THE GREATEST FAN FILM EVER MADE<\/strong> (<strong>Drafthouse Films<\/strong>) will dramatize the amazing lengths taken by these boys to realize their lo-fi vision even when it cost them love and friendship. <strong>The Normal Theater<\/strong> is showing the documentary, created by <strong>Tim Skousen<\/strong> and <strong>Jeremy Coon<\/strong>, on <strong>Sat., 9\/3, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, with a reprise next <strong>Fri., 9\/9<\/strong>, also at <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong>; the seminal 1981 adventure classic starring <strong>Harrison Ford<\/strong> and <strong>Karen Allen<\/strong> and directed by <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong> will play tonight, <strong>Fri., 9\/2, 10:30 p.m.<\/strong>, and tomorrow, <strong>Sat., 9\/3, 1 p.m.<\/strong>, for comparison\u2019s sake. Also reaching for Spielbergian skies are the organizers of the <strong>Urbanalove<\/strong> outdoor shows; at dusk tomorrow, <strong>Sat., 9\/3<\/strong>, in the <strong>Busey Bank<\/strong> parking lot at the corner of <strong>Main<\/strong> and <strong>Race<\/strong> streets in Urbana, the fantasy master\u2019s 1982 follow-up to <strong>RAIDERS<\/strong>, <strong>E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL<\/strong> (<strong>Amblin Entertainment\/Universal Studios<\/strong>), will delight the downtown audience and bring this warm-weather series to a close for 2016. Finally, the <strong>Lincoln Square Theatre<\/strong> in <strong>Decatur<\/strong> will unleash <strong>James Cameron<\/strong>\u2019s still-impressive military science fiction hit <strong>ALIENS<\/strong> (<strong>20th Century Fox<\/strong>) just past the 30th anniversary of its original 1986 release later tonight, <strong>Fri., 9\/2, 8 p.m.<\/strong>, as part of a revival set that also includes <strong>STAND BY ME, EMPIRE RECORDS<\/strong>, and <strong>BEETLEJUICE<\/strong> in the coming weeks; we are simply bursting at the chest with happiness to see the Lincoln, which reaches its centenary of existence next month, back in the movie business where it belongs! \u201c<strong>EOW<\/strong>\u201d is hereby <em>fin<\/em>.
