DeVidal<\/strong>. Although constructed to include a roomy backstage area, orchestra pit, and pitch-perfect acoustics for live performances, the Lincoln Square would be retrofit in the coming months to accommodate motion pictures. Managers eventually added a projection booth in June 1917 and played their first films, <strong>THE CALL OF HER PEOPLE<\/strong> and <strong>THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER<\/strong>, the next month, following with the installation of a pipe organ in January 1919.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>FLICKER OF THE WEEK | Suggestions in Full-Motion Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Although we subconsciously handed out \u201c<strong>FOW<\/strong>\u201d honors to the \u201c<strong>100th Birthday Bash<\/strong>\u201d at the <strong>Lincoln Square Theatre<\/strong> in <strong>Decatur<\/strong> on <strong>Fri., 10\/21, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, and the \u201c<strong>Movies under the Dome<\/strong>\u201d show at the <strong>McLean County Museum of History<\/strong> in <strong>Bloomington<\/strong> on <strong>Tues., 10\/25, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Museum, theater note film history :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=10354\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in a previous post<\/a><\/span>, we feel the need to drop one more vote since neither of the above directly involves the watching of a feature film. You could argue we\u2019re still fudging our judgment to a degree, but we\u2019re having our Transylvanian cake and eating it too by suggesting an interactive trip to the Frankenstein place for a \u201cshadow cast\u201d presentation of <strong>THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW<\/strong> (<strong>20th Century Fox<\/strong>) during the next week! The time-warping reputation of this mid-Seventies cult item directed by <strong>Jim Sharman<\/strong> and created by co-star <strong>Richard O\u2019Brien<\/strong> precedes itself handily, so we\u2019ll jump to the left and cut to the chase by noting it has been rare for multiple area groups to perform alongside the big-screen <strong>Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon<\/strong>, and company in the same <strong>Halloween<\/strong> season. That is no problem in 2016 and we can thank the collegiate crowd for keeping the dream alive. <strong>University of Illinois<\/strong> students will do <strong>ROCKY<\/strong> at the <strong>Art Theater Co-op<\/strong> on <strong>10\/21, 10\/22, 10\/26<\/strong>, and <strong>10\/27<\/strong>, all at <strong>10 p.m.<\/strong>, <strong>Illinois State University<\/strong> students will do <strong>ROCKY<\/strong> at the <strong>Normal Theater<\/strong> on <strong>10\/27<\/strong> and <strong>10\/29<\/strong> at <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> as well as <strong>10\/28<\/strong> at <strong>10:30 p.m.<\/strong>, and <strong>Millikin University<\/strong> students will do <strong>ROCKY<\/strong> at the <strong>Avon Theatre<\/strong> on <strong>10\/21<\/strong> and <strong>10\/22<\/strong> at the traditional stroke of <strong>midnight<\/strong>. Primp yourselves nicely and hold those props tightly as you seek out sugar and bi and everything not-nice at a participating movie theater! \u201c<strong>FOW<\/strong>\u201d is hereby <em>fin<\/em>, babies, so don&#8217;t you panic!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Note:<\/em> There was <em>no<\/em> debate at <strong>MFHQ<\/strong>.
