We\u2019ll instead keep it short and sweet in picking the best of the rest! An acclaimed Swedish drama with both empathy and bite, <strong>A MAN CALLED OVE<\/strong> (<strong>Music Box Films<\/strong>), is directed by <strong>Hannes Holm<\/strong> and stars <strong>Rolf Lassg\u00e5rd<\/strong> in the title role as a stern widower who unexpectedly warms to new neighbors; it returns to the <strong>Art Theater Co-op<\/strong> for a one-week split run with <strong>Mick Jackson<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>DENIAL<\/strong> (<strong>Bleecker Street<\/strong>) starting tonight, <strong>Fri., 10\/28<\/strong>. Also showing this evening is the locally-made documentary <strong>THE PHOENIX: HOPE IS RISING*<\/strong> (<strong>Center Street Productions<\/strong>), which covers the last-minute move of the <strong>Phoenix Daytime Drop-in Center<\/strong> for the homeless to <strong>34 E. Green St., Champaign<\/strong>, from its now-demolished Neil St. location; a talk about the plight of these individuals served by the Phoenix will follow the free <strong>6 p.m.<\/strong> screening at the<strong> Stratford Park Bible Chapel, 2801 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign<\/strong>. Lastly and certainly beastly, we revisit <strong>THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW<\/strong> (<strong>20th Century Fox<\/strong>) to point out additional dates we neglected to share in the prior \u201c<strong>FOW<\/strong>.\u201d Students from <strong>Lincoln College<\/strong> will perform alongside <strong>ROCKY<\/strong> at the <strong>Lincoln Grand 8<\/strong> in <strong>Lincoln<\/strong> tomorrow, <strong>Sat., 10\/29<\/strong>, at <strong>10:30 p.m.<\/strong>, while the <strong>Effingham Performance Center<\/strong> in <strong>Effingham<\/strong> offers customers a complimentary goodie bag but no dancing troupe for its own <strong>10 p.m.<\/strong> show, also on <strong>Sat., 10\/29<\/strong>.
