SNAKE\u2019S BIG ADVENTURE, Pens to Lens 2016)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>FLICKER OF THE WEEK | Suggestions in Full-Motion Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">After the conclusion of another successful <strong>New Art Film Festival<\/strong>, an extended <strong>Halloween<\/strong> weekend, and a gloriously epic win by the <strong>Chicago Cubs<\/strong> over the <strong>Cleveland Indians<\/strong> to seal their first <strong>World Series<\/strong> championship since 1908, the only other things we could possibly want this week at the <strong>Secret MICRO-FILM Headquarters<\/strong> are rest and a big mound of peace and happiness. Therefore, we cross our fingers in the faint hope the makers of animated comedy <strong>TROLLS<\/strong> (<strong>DreamWorks\/20th Century Fox<\/strong>), opening nationwide today, <strong>Fri., 11\/4<\/strong>, were savvy enough to incorporate the only tuft-haired member of their tribe who could possibly satisfy our needs in contrast to the precocious and generic ones appearing in the ad campaign \u2013<strong> Tiny Tim<\/strong> troll, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Tiny Tim troll doll, Scandia House, c.1965 :: Etsy\" href=\"https:\/\/img1.etsystatic.com\/102\/0\/6246107\/il_570xN.848013867_hy62.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">an actual variation on the collectible dolls<\/a><\/span> of Danish origin that was based on the late novelty singer of <strong>THE TONIGHT SHOW<\/strong> and \u201c<strong>Tip-Toe Thru\u2019 the Tulips With Me<\/strong>\u201d infamy. All other mainstream concessions in the candy-colored adventure, featuring voice work by <strong>Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Anna Kendrick, James Corden<\/strong>, and <strong>Russell Brand<\/strong>, can be (nearly) forgiven if that doe-eyed, dark-haired creature would cameo with his ukulele and otherworldly flower-power falsetto. We\u2019re not sure if we\u2019d be willing to fork over first-run prices to find out, however, so let\u2019s instead consider the quiet contemplation of the newest <strong>Kelly Reichardt<\/strong> drama, <strong>CERTAIN WOMEN<\/strong> (<strong>IFC Films<\/strong>), starring <strong>Kristin Stewart, Laura Dern<\/strong>, and <strong>Michelle Williams<\/strong>, or the loud legacy wrought by <strong>Iggy Pop<\/strong> and <strong>The Stooges<\/strong> in the documentary <strong>GIMME DANGER<\/strong> (<strong>Magnolia Pictures\/Amazon Studios<\/strong>) directed by<strong> Jim Jarmusch<\/strong>; both start week-long runs at the <strong>Art Theater Co-op<\/strong> today.
