Green St., Urbana, IL<\/strong>. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One hour later, <strong>SUPER SIZE ME<\/strong> and <strong>WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN?<\/strong> director <a title=\"Morgan Spurlock to speak on ISU campus Sept. 30 :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/entertainment\/article_e622b696-a952-11de-bdf6-001cc4c03286.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Morgan Spurlock<\/strong> will entertain and engage with his humorous tales during a free event<\/a> starting at <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> tonight, <strong>Wednesday, September 30<\/strong>, in the <strong>Braden Auditorium<\/strong> of <strong>Bone Student Center, Illinois State University, 100 N. University St., Normal, IL<\/strong>. Topics will include his life post-<strong>SSM<\/strong> as a \u201cmedia celebrity\u201d and his involvement with the omnibus adaptation of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Freakonomics<\/span><\/strong> by <strong>Steven D. Levitt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Two days later, kick off your weekend with an improbable campus film lecture when <a title=\"Ed Glaser presents &quot;'Turkish RAMBO' and other Foreign Remakes&quot; at UIUC :: DarkMaze.com\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.darkmaze.com\/2009\/09\/turkish-rambo-and-remakes-lecture.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ed Glaser<\/strong> of <strong>Dark Maze Studios<\/strong> in Champaign discusses the weird international world of \u201cremakesploitation\u201d films<\/a> that twist Hollywood originals on their ear. The prime example Glaser will unleash as \u201cExhibit \u2018A\u2019\u201d is, of course, <strong>KORKUSUZ<\/strong> a.k.a. <strong>RAMPAGE<\/strong> a.k.a. \u201cTurkish <strong>RAMBO<\/strong>,\u201d which Dark Maze dubbed into English and then released on DVD back in April. When one thinks of the <strong>Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts<\/strong> and its relatively traditional and\/or family friendly programming, one does <em>not<\/em> necessarily think of \u201cAn Evening with <strong>John Waters<\/strong>.\u201d Sure enough, the <em>auteur<\/em> behind such <strong>Baltimore<\/strong> trash classics as <strong>PINK FLAMINGOS<\/strong>, <strong>POLYESTER<\/strong>, and <strong>CECIL B. DEMENTED<\/strong> will bring it to the cornfields on <strong>Friday, October 16<\/strong>, starting at <strong>7:30 p.m.<\/strong> <a title=\"An Evening with John Waters :: Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cityblm.org\/bcd\/page.asp?id=11400&amp;show=main\" target=\"_blank\">Tickets cost between <strong>$25<\/strong> and <strong>$31<\/strong><\/a> but honestly, it might just be worth the investment to see what exactly he\u2019ll heap upon his audience at the BCPA, <strong>600 N. East St., Bloomington, IL<\/strong>. We&#8217;d leave the dog poo and man-sized lobsters at home, however, if we were you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And finally, <a title=\"Brian Seay's film PONTIAC'S REBELLION to be shown Oct. 24 :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/entertainment\/article_c30315d2-ad2d-11de-90ef-001cc4c002e0.html\" target=\"_blank\">a project from ISU graduate student <strong>Brian Seay<\/strong> called <strong>PONTIAC\u2019S REBELLION<\/strong><\/a> will be shown on <strong>Saturday, October 24, 7 p.m.<\/strong> at <strong>Pontiac Township High School, 1100 E. Indiana Ave., Pontiac, IL<\/strong>. The film records the heightened fears faced by Pontiac citizens as the state of Illinois publicly flirted with closing a nearby correctional center in 2008, threatening the loss of jobs and security for a small-town area already hurting by the shifting economic landscape.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We would also love to know whether or not the posters we saw in UIUC buildings Monday night touting an appearance by actress <strong>Marlee Matlin<\/strong> (<strong>THE L WORD, WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW?!<\/strong>) as part of a LGBT awareness series were legit.
