To that end, we share below the announcement of one such venture, an adaptation of the recently-concluded comic book series <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Revival :: Image Comics\" href=\"https:\/\/imagecomics.com\/comics\/series\/revival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Revival<\/span><\/strong> (<strong>Image Comics<\/strong>)<\/a><\/span> by <strong>Tim Seeley<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Norton<\/strong> about a rather different kind of zombie apocalypse. The announcement was made at a panel at <strong>Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo<\/strong> (C2E2) where the filmmakers showed a surprise \u201cproof of concept\u201d teaser trailer to the room of fans. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Revival<\/span> is a blend of mystery, thriller, and horror set in the winter stillness of rural <strong>Wisconsin<\/strong> where the recently deceased members of the community arise and return to their lives as if nothing happened. Caught up in the maelstrom of emotional and ideological turmoil the event brings to the town, Officer Dana Cypress struggles to maintain order at the same time she quietly investigates the murder of her younger sister Em, who is one of the recently \u201crevived.\u201d Production is slated to begin in early 2018 with Shatterglass Films co-founder <strong>Luke Boyce<\/strong> directing a script co-written by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Revival<\/span> co-creator Tim Seeley and <strong>Sarah Fischer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cI am beyond ecstatic to be bringing this incredible work to life. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Revival<\/span> has consistently been one of the best titles from Image in the past few years and one of my absolute favorites since it debuted in 2012. Long before I ever met Tim and Mike, I dreamed of being able to adapt this story on film and I intend to do everything I can to realize it to its full potential,\u201d said Boyce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nominated for three <strong>Harvey Awards<\/strong>, collected editions of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Revival<\/span> have sold more than 1,000,000 copies from publisher<strong> Image Comics<\/strong>, home of other successful and upcoming comic adaptations like <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Walking Dead<\/strong><\/span>, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Outcast<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Wicked &amp; The Divine<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sex Criminals<\/span><\/strong>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Descender<\/strong><\/span>. Creators Tim Seeley and Mike Norton are known for their success with independent comics such as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>HACK\/SLASH<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Battlepug<\/strong><\/span>, as well as for work with comic publishing giants <strong>Marvel<\/strong> and <strong>DC<\/strong>, such as the critically acclaimed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Nightwing<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cPart of what\u2019s so exciting about working with a company like Shatterglass is that not every comic story needs to be a hundred-million-dollar-plus movie, nor should they be. Teaming up independent comics with an independent film production company just makes sense,\u201d said Seeley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The managing partners at Shatterglass Films have been involved with more than a dozen films, including an upcoming adaptation of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Death of Innocence<\/strong><\/span>, <strong>Mamie Till-Mobley<\/strong>&#8216;s memoir on the death of her son, <strong>Emmett Till<\/strong>, produced in association with <strong>Chaz Ebert<\/strong>. Other projects include <strong>Mark Roberts\u2019 RANTOUL AND DIE<\/strong>, based on his critically acclaimed play, and <strong>A24<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Chance the Rapper<\/strong> vehicle <strong>SLICE<\/strong>.
