Instead, head a couple doors south to <strong>Gregory Hall, UIUC, 810 S. Wright St., Urbana, IL<\/strong>, and seek out <strong>Room 221<\/strong>. It sounds like the move may be permanent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2022 As it turns out, the appearance by <strong>Marlee Matlin<\/strong> is not a figment of our imagination. She will speak at a free event on <strong>Wednesday, October 14, 8 p.m.<\/strong>, in the <strong>Illini Rooms<\/strong> of the <strong>Illini Union, UIUC, 1401 W. Green St., Urbana, IL<\/strong>, sponsored by the <strong>Illini Union Board<\/strong> and <strong>LGBT Resource Center<\/strong>. Being a long-time advocate in several movements, the actress best known for <strong>THE L WORD<\/strong>, <strong>THE WEST WING<\/strong>, and <strong>CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD<\/strong> will certainly have plenty to talk about, not the least of which is her own efforts to overcome a hearing disability and find success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2022 On the following evening, <strong>Thursday, October 15<\/strong>, the next round of <strong>Skip Huston<\/strong> film classes will commence at the <strong><a title=\"The Avon Theater :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theavon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Avon Theater<\/a>, 426 N. Water St., Decatur, IL<\/strong>, starting at <strong>6:30 p.m.<\/strong> The Head Honcho resumes partnership with <strong>Richland Community College<\/strong> with this series, \u201c8 Great Directors,\u201d so you will need to sign up promptly at the Avon or register by calling <strong>(217) 875-7211 x265<\/strong>. Cost will be $80 for eight weeks\u2019 worth of cinema awesomeness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2022 Need we remind you that <strong>THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW<\/strong> would love to touch-<em>a<\/em> touch-<em>a<\/em> touch-<em>a<\/em> touch you, should you attend the <strong>Midnight<\/strong> shows at the Avon on <strong>Friday, October 16<\/strong>, and\/or <strong>Saturday, October 17<\/strong>? On top of that, Huston just announced the Avon\u2019s <strong>Halloween<\/strong> programming for <strong>Saturday, October 31<\/strong>: the <strong>Lon Chaney, Jr.<\/strong>, classic <strong>THE WOLF MAN<\/strong> (1941) and <strong>Mario Bava<\/strong>\u2019s iconic Gothic chiller, <strong>BLACK SUNDAY<\/strong> (1961), starring <strong>Barbara Steele<\/strong>. Tickets will cost $10 for the former; the latter two are free with show times TBA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u2022 We\u2019ve also spotted fliers for the annual <a title=\"Embarras Valley Film Festival @ EIU.edu\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eiu.edu\/~evff\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Embarras Valley Film Festival<\/strong><\/a> in <strong>Charleston, IL<\/strong>, held on and near the <strong>Eastern Illinois University<\/strong> campus. This fourth edition will focus on <strong>Abraham Lincoln<\/strong> related films and presentations \u2013 are we experiencing <em>d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu<\/em> yet, dear readers? \u2013 and will run from <strong>Friday, November 12<\/strong>, through <strong>Sunday, November 14<\/strong>.
