Heed!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You currently have opportunities, dear player, to get your feet wet on the home front as a pair of new indie projects from unheralded sources have plopped themselves down on the <strong>C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> radar. Of course we\u2019ll decipher the readings for you because that\u2019s what we\u2019re here to do! Besides, we like to stare at the little flashing red lights because they\u2019re proof positive that, a-<em>hem<\/em>, we are not alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Thanks to <strong>Cameron Counts<\/strong> of the <strong>Central Illinois Film Commission<\/strong>, we learned that a mystery filmmaker had set up a casting session in <strong>Decatur<\/strong> for a mystery film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=1117\" target=\"_self\">the same day as our <strong>INFORMANT!<\/strong> sojourn<\/a>. Timely e-mails and phone calls resulted in an after-movie excursion featuring yours truly, man of action <strong>Sanford Hess<\/strong>, <strong>Thomas C. Card<\/strong> of <a title=\"Pounded Pavement Productions :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.poundedpavement.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Pounded Pavement Productions<\/strong><\/a>, and the latter&#8217;s assistants <strong>Jenna<\/strong> and <strong>Charlotte<\/strong>. Over dinner, drinks, and discussion at retro supper club <strong>Bizou<\/strong> in the downtown, Card lifted the veil about himself \u2013 a Decatur native who works in <strong>New York City<\/strong> as a <a title=\"Thomas C. Card Photography :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thomascardphoto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">product and fashion photographer<\/a> with an <a title=\"Thomas C. Card :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thomascard.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">artistic portfolio<\/a> on the side \u2013 and the project, which dramatizes a local kidnapping that took place in the early Nineties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">As of this writing, <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> is unsure what personnel still need to be brought aboard for the film, which had been scheduled to start shooting by <strong>Halloween<\/strong> according to Card. <a title=\"Casting call for Thomas C. Card movie @ Craigslist.org, Sept. 2009\" href=\"http:\/\/chambana.craigslist.org\/tlg\/1393640213.html\" target=\"_blank\">The original <strong>Craigslist<\/strong> post <\/a>detailed about twenty acting roles as well as numerous crew positions including [in their words] \u201cCrew Camera Man (<strong>Sony EX3 Cameras<\/strong> experience), Script Supervisor, Production Assistants, Gaffer, Key Grip, Soundman, Wardrobe Designer, Hair + Makeup, [and] Prop Designer (knowledge of guns is helpful).\u201d Write <strong>info [at] poundedpavement [dot] com<\/strong> or call Card at <strong>(917) 447-3269<\/strong> or Jenna at <strong>(917) 488-3777<\/strong> if you\u2019d like to find out more. Card has visited <strong>MICRO-FILM Country<\/strong> at least once since then, so the game is still afoot for his untitled first feature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Mere days later, the plot thickened when <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> acquaintance <strong>Christopher DeSouza<\/strong> contacted us about a completely different project in need of a Director of Photography as well as a Sound Designer. According to DeSouza, this \u201cjoint venture between a small local production company, <strong>Next Process Films<\/strong>, and the <strong>Alpha Delta Phi<\/strong> fraternity\u201d will be filmed in the spring or summer of 2010 on the <strong>University of Illinois<\/strong> campus. He says they\u2019ve been searching for their DP in the <strong>Chicago<\/strong> area but would prefer to hire a camera person based in downstate Illinois for the \u201cthree to four week shoot.\u201d Contact DeSouza at <strong>cdesouza2 [at] gmail [dot] com<\/strong> or <strong>(773) 301-3096<\/strong> if interested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He describes the \u201cUntitled Vigilante Project\u201d as such: \u201cA young student journalist is unwittingly saved by a vigilante after she is attacked by an assailant on her routine walk home. This causes her to seek out the vigilante, in hopes of finding out more about the mysterious Good Samaritan. All the while, forces gather to hinder her pursuits as a mounting threat looms over the campus as a whole.\u201d <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> will unload more details about both projects as they come to light.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">~ Jason Pankoke<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thomas C.
