While putting together our SHOT<\/strong> report from a few weeks ago, we happened upon a Facebook<\/strong> announcement from Robin Christian<\/strong> of Dreamscape Cinema<\/span><\/strong> in Champaign<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that BAD COMPANY<\/strong>, his company\u2019s bioterrorism action film that was originally produced in Piatt County<\/strong> in July and August of 2013, would street on the same day as the vintage student adventure \u2013 Tuesday, August 28<\/strong>. This included placement in Family Video<\/strong> locations across North America<\/strong> and additional exposure in Redbox<\/strong> kiosks nationwide<\/a><\/span> thanks to the connections of MTI Home Video<\/strong>, the long-running genre label that picked up the rights to BAD COMPANY<\/strong><\/span><\/a> from sales agent Artist View Entertainment<\/strong>. Other than securing international distribution for the project, previously called LOWLIFES<\/strong>, this clears the deck for Dreamscape as all the studio\u2019s completed features are now in commercial release with most available via Amazon<\/strong> streaming. You can access the older catalog \u2013 SHEEBA, DISCONNECT, ACT YOUR AGE, MY DOG THE SPACE TRAVELER<\/strong>, and the VOD-only DISPOSABLE<\/strong> \u2013 at this Amazon search result<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n Starring up-and-coming talents like Booboo Stewart<\/strong> (X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST<\/strong>), Giselle Bonilla<\/strong> (FREEDOM WRITERS<\/strong>), Kyle Massey<\/strong> (THAT\u2019S SO RAVEN<\/strong>), Madelyn Deutch<\/strong> (THE YEAR OF SPECTACULAR MEN<\/strong>), and Quinton Aaron<\/strong> (THE BLIND SIDE<\/strong>) as well as veteran actors like William Atherton<\/strong> (DIE HARD<\/strong>), Christopher Judge<\/strong> (STARGATE SG-1<\/strong>), Tzi Ma<\/strong> (THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE<\/strong>), and Mark Derwin<\/strong> (THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER<\/strong>), the film follows a group of teenagers that is enrolled in a disciplinary boot camp and becomes isolated when a rogue militia invades the immediate countryside. Troop members who survive an early search-and-destroy sweep by the invaders must put aside their pasts and band together in order to thwart a scheme to disable the nearby nuclear plant. Other than aiming to produce a yarn that is exciting and colorful, Christian took inspiration from the Lincoln\u2019s Challenge Academy<\/strong> in Rantoul<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and their serious mission to help wayward youth turn around their lives so they may be productive or even heroic in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n
