To that end, we are jumping ahead a couple of points on the projected timeline and confirming that <strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong>, the digest of the Movies of <strong>Champaign, Urbana<\/strong>, and the Cities Beyond, will indeed return at the end of 2009!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This &#8220;off season&#8221; one-shot &#8211; meaning, it&#8217;s in <em>addition <\/em>to the annual which streets during <strong>Roger Ebert&#8217;s Film Festival<\/strong> in April &#8211; will meld together two high-minded concepts that even your humble low-brow editor can understand. Imagine a mash-up between a 10th anniversary <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> edition that technically isn&#8217;t <strong>MF <\/strong>and a &#8220;what-if&#8221; issue of <strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong> that approximates (to a point) what <strong>CUZine <\/strong>might have looked like had it arrived in <strong>October 1999<\/strong> instead of <strong>MF 1<\/strong>, and you have a rough idea of where we&#8217;re headed. Yes, Virginia, it will be a trip across space, time, and <strong>MICRO-FILM Country<\/strong> the likes of which you&#8217;ve never read before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Ultimately, <strong>CU99<\/strong> will be a creative contemplation of what it was, what it is, and what it still can be for the movies and their makers coexisting in downstate <strong>Illinois <\/strong>with friends, neighbors, and colleagues who still might not quite &#8220;get it&#8221; when their cameras are turned on and all bets are otherwise off.
