They include documentaries created by independent filmmakers and PBS outlets across the nation, typically presented under brands like <strong>INDEPENDENT LENS<\/strong> and <strong>POV<\/strong>, but don\u2019t often speak directly to the <strong>Illinois<\/strong> experience unless the material addresses <strong>Chicago<\/strong>-area stories or occasional excursions beyond the suburbs<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018\u2019All The Queen's Horses\u2019 makes broadcast premiere November 7 on WTTW and IL Public Media\u2019 :: Kartemquin Films\" href=\"https:\/\/kartemquin.com\/news\/all-the-queens-horses-makes-broadcast-premiere-november-7-on-wttw-and-il-public-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> as did <strong>ALL THE QUEEN\u2019S HORSES<\/strong> from last year<\/a><\/span>. On <strong>Monday, March 2<\/strong>, the station premiered a brand-new piece at <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong> called <strong>ILLINOIS COUNTRY<\/strong>, <a title=\"\u2018Interview: Sarah Edwards and DJ Roach talk about WILL documentary, \u2018Illinois Country\u2019\u2019 by Benjamin S. Holbrook :: Smile Politely\" href=\"http:\/\/www.smilepolitely.com\/music\/interview_sarah_edwards_and_dj_roach_talk_about_new_documentary_illinois_co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">directed by <strong>Sarah Edwards<\/strong> and produced by <strong>DJ Roach<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which dives deep into the development of American country music and how it is historically tied to artists and milestones associated with the Land of Lincoln. Certainly, it was made to serve as a geographical companion to <strong>Ken Burns<\/strong>&#8216; massive <strong>COUNTRY MUSIC<\/strong> event series and missed the synergy by a few months, yet I\u2019m glad to see WILL stretching its resources again to deliver more substantial material they can claim as their won. The film is available through WILL\u2019s \u201cPassport\u201d streaming service and will encore tonight, <strong>Friday, March 6<\/strong>, at <strong>7:30 p.m.<\/strong> on WILL-TV.
