Twenty years ago, I spent a day at the cozy household of <strong>Mike<\/strong> and <strong>Sue Trippiedi<\/strong> in <strong>Champaign<\/strong> to witness the taping of a comic dispute between the lumbering Bucky McSnead (<strong>Steve Davis<\/strong>) and his abrasive parents (<strong>Traci Nally<\/strong> and <strong>Will Ridenour<\/strong>) that ended in murder and began a crime spree littered with <em>many<\/em> suspect couplets. I was grateful to be invited and could not wait to see the scene cut together when <strong>BUCKY McSNEAD, THE FIRST SLASHER FILM DONE IN RHYME<\/strong> had its debut in 2001. Slice and dice to the present, it seems inexplicable that so few horror movies originate from downstate <strong>Illinois<\/strong> and it always takes me by surprise when a new one is announced. If you want a hint at what Harl and Hamilton\u2019s screenplay may entail, visit Indiegogo for an over-the-top teaser and <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018\u2018Ole Splitfoot\u2019 Producers Deliver NSFW Announcement Video\u2019 by Ash Hamilton :: Horror-Fix.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.horror-fix.com\/ole-splitfoot-producers-deliver-nsfw-announcement-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this <strong>Horror-Fix.com<\/strong> article for<\/a><\/span> their ribald sense of humor. <strong>OLE SPLITFOOT<\/strong> is intended to roll this November under the direction of <strong>Massimiliano Cerchi<\/strong> (<strong>MAYDAY<\/strong>) and star a number of indie horror talents along with veteran actors like <strong>Michael Par\u00e9<\/strong> (<strong>BONE TOMAHAWK<\/strong>) and <strong>Robert LaSardo<\/strong> (<strong>THE MULE<\/strong>). <strong>Peoria<\/strong> actress <strong>Samantha Marie<\/strong> (<strong>TEACHER SHORTAGE<\/strong>) is a co-producer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Given that mouthful of a title and the involvement of CinemaSlice, I wonder if <strong>OLE SPLITFOOT<\/strong> will be filmed closer to <strong>Canada<\/strong> than the Illinois plains. We\u2019ll certainly find out! Until then, a promotional poster oozes with exploitation intent below.
