The following\u00a0event is\u00a0\u201ccoming soon\u201d in February; please support this diverse film programming in our community by attending and spreading the word. Multiplexes and television sets are no substitute for a true cinema experience!<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">It&#8217;s about that time when we head indoors to escape the plentiful snow as special film events finally pop up like premature spring flowers, providing colorful interest amidst the Hollywood drift.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">We only have one item to report today &#8211; we&#8217;ll certainly\u00a0make up for it <em>en masse<\/em> next week &#8211; and it&#8217;s a curious diversion to be sure. The <strong>John\u00a0Cusack Film Festival<\/strong> brings together four of the Chicago actor&#8217;s best-known movies: <strong>BETTER OFF DEAD<\/strong> (1985), <strong>SAY ANYTHING&#8230;<\/strong> (1989), <strong>GROSSE POINTE BLANK<\/strong> (1997), and <strong>BEING JOHN MALKOVICH<\/strong> (1999). Although the first two played last night, you can still catch the remaining two tonight, <strong>Friday, February 16,<\/strong> <strong>6 p.m.<\/strong>, on the campus of <strong>Lake Land College,<\/strong> <strong>5001 Lake Land Blvd., Mattoon, IL<\/strong>. (But don&#8217;t ask us <em>where<\/em> on campus, because that little tidbit doesn&#8217;t appear in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakeland.cc.il.us\/news\/detail.cfm?id=173\" target=\"_blank\">LLC&#8217;s press release<\/a>; we&#8217;ll recommend that you contact Special Projects Coordinator <a title=\"Write to Ron Sanderson\" href=\"mailto:rsanders@lakeland.cc.il.us\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ron Sanderson<\/strong><\/a> for clarification.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Presented by LLC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arts and Humanities Series<\/strong> and the <strong>Student Activity Board<\/strong>, &#8220;CusackFest&#8221; is free and open to the public.\u00a0The festival&#8217;s namesake\u00a0is apparently not scheduled to attend, according to a <strong><u>News-Gazette<\/u><\/strong> write-up, but you won&#8217;t have far to look for a photo op.
