I was originally going to post a slightly wrongheaded train of thought as a follow-up to last week\u2019s <strong>Report<\/strong> that would have cornered the political tendencies of certain people, places, and things brought up here on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CUBlog<\/span><\/strong> in recent months but, for now, fuck it. (For now.) This change in tact is in large part thanks to <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Smile Politely<\/span><\/strong>;<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Finding nuance in times of great offense\u2019 by Editorial Board :: Smile Politely\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smilepolitely.com\/opinion\/finding_nuance_in_times_of_great_offense\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> they shared an editorial on Thursday about consideration and temperament when engaging or meditating with those \u201cother sides\u201d<\/a><\/span> who would or do bring harm to marginalized groups or our society at large. I had to pause for a bit when reminded the obvious. There are often better ways to do what you think you should be doing and not merely dumping energy into pointing out the \u201cwrong\u201d elsewhere, even if facts and evidence that support your case are sitting right in front of you and screaming for regurgitation. Playing into the temptations fueled by instant-gratification everything is not the way to heal and upgrade an America claiming to stand by humane principles that benefit and protect every fellow citizen. Go read the piece, and then go do good from wherever you may stand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Meanwhile, I\u2019ll hint that I\u2019m standing at the bottom of <strong>Mount Unwatched\u2122<\/strong>, looking skyward.
