If the sum result is that we record the local film culture for now and the future, any which way, then maybe it doesn\u2019t matter as long as it happens to the best of our abilities. Of course, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">C-U Blogfidential<\/span><\/strong> can always recap to point out what\u2019s positive and help improve our perspective on media matters, even if timeliness is a bit shite.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Unlike our previous topics, I\u2019ll have opportunities to revisit the following in the coming months if I can swing it. First, I wasn\u2019t able to kick out a post encouraging y\u2019all to contribute to <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"HUNTING FOR THE HAG campaign @ Indiegogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indiegogo.com\/projects\/hunting-for-the-hag-a-found-footage-horror-film#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the <strong>Indiegogo<\/strong> campaign for the found footage thriller<\/a><\/span> <strong>HUNTING FOR THE HAG<\/strong>, photographed last year by the team from <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Into the Night Motion Pictures @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ITNmotionpictures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Into the Night Motion Pictures<\/strong> of <strong>Normal<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, but we\u2019ll congratulate them on raising about $3,000 to help with their post-production needs. A month-long push ended this <strong>Friday, June 30<\/strong>, and we\u2019ll be hunting alongside director <strong>Paul A. Brooks<\/strong> and his merry hagglers if they need more assistance down the road.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also, I couldn\u2019t get it together to promote the call for participants in \u201c<strong>Central Illinois Film &amp; TV Production Training<\/strong>,\u201d <a title=\"Central Illinois Film &amp; TV Production Training :: Home Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.illinoisproductiontraining.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">a new eight-week course beginning later in July<\/span><\/a> and co-sponsored by <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Shatterglass Studios @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shatterglassstudios\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Shatterglass Studios<\/strong> of Champaign<\/a><\/span>, the <strong>Illinois Film and TV Workforce Development Program<\/strong> from the <strong>Illinois Film Office<\/strong>, and the <strong>Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity<\/strong>, but a staff member at Shatterglass did confirm on <strong>Facebook<\/strong> they had more than enough applicants to draw from and ensure the program was a go. Their deadline to apply was also on June 30. We\u2019ll share how training is going when we hear more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And then, I didn\u2019t jump at the chance to attend an early-access screening of <strong>April Wright<\/strong>\u2019s <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"GOING ATTRACTIONS :: Official Site\" href=\"https:\/\/www.goingattractions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">newest documentary on Americana<\/a><\/span>, <strong>BACK TO THE DRIVE-IN<\/strong>, featuring stories from the <strong>Harvest Moon Twin Drive-in<\/strong> of <strong>Hoopeston<\/strong> and a dozen other operational ozoners that are working hard to satisfy their customers and weather the uncertainties of their industry, although those who missed out will get a second chance in short order when the film is officially released in August. The local showing took place on <strong>Monday, June 6<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018National Drive-in Movie Day is June 6th, 2022\u2019 :: DriveInMovie.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.driveinmovie.com\/articles\/National-Drive-in-Day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deemed \u201c<strong>National Drive-in Movie Day<\/strong>,\u201d<\/a><\/span> at the Harvest Moon. We\u2019ll shine our brights on it soon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nothing is really lost for these camps if we don\u2019t pull through with the journalistic goods in a way that will benefit them, for it\u2019s clear they all have the momentum and connections needed for their efforts to pay off. I\u2019ll enjoy watching it play out in each instance as we go. That it will take place almost exclusively from a distance is kind of a personal buzzkill, though. This is a hard truth to reconcile and an even harder one to act upon, given where I should <em>probably<\/em> go from here.
