So, we\u2019ll go with three quick things and move right along. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Haddonfield, the 'Halloween' slasher movie hometown, is right here in Central Illinois\u2019 by Ryan Denham :: WGLT\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wglt.org\/local-news\/2022-09-29\/haddonfield-the-halloween-slasher-movie-hometown-is-right-here-in-central-illinois\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WGLT-FM<\/strong> radio went down the \u201ctie the famous movie to localities\u201d well<\/a><\/span> this week with an article about the smattering of references in <strong>John Carpenter<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>HALLOWEEN<\/strong> and its sequels to central <strong>Illinois<\/strong> geography, institutions, and road routes. At least we now know where the famously fictional burg of \u201cHaddonfield,\u201d home-slash-battleground to \u201cLaurie Strode\u201d and \u201cMichael Myers,\u201d <em>might<\/em> have been located near <strong>Bloomington-Normal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also, the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Herald &amp; Review<\/span><\/strong> published this week <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Decatur's Lincoln Square Theater adding events as renovations continue\u2019 by Donnette Beckett :: The Herald &amp; Review\" href=\"https:\/\/herald-review.com\/entertainment\/arts-and-theatre\/decaturs-lincoln-square-theater-adding-events-as-renovations-continue\/article_2a769d5a-402e-11ed-83ca-eb9284c2665c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a heavily illustrated update on the preservation efforts being given the <strong>Lincoln Square Theatre<\/strong><\/a><\/span> in downtown <strong>Decatur<\/strong>, which includes a very clear picture of the <strong>Art Theater<\/strong>\u2019s former digital projector \u2013 yes, the one <em>many of us paid for<\/em> \u2013 anchored in place for use in its new home. The Lincoln is a surprisingly grand venue that deserves the overdue love its new board of directors and associates are giving it, yet <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Friends of the Lincoln Square Theater\u2019 page @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/friendsofthelincoln\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">most of the events in the early going of this era will appeal to a customer base with tastes dramatically opposite<\/a><\/span> those of the Art\u2019s typical clientele. In other words, we cringe a little at the prospects of what possibly could be shone through that lens in the future, even if films don\u2019t factor much in their programming. Good luck, Lincoln-ian folks, and choose your fare considerately.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Conversely, we applaud <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Normal Theater :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.normaltheater.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the robust <strong>Halloween<\/strong> programming that will play the <strong>Normal Theater<\/strong><\/a><\/span> in downtown <strong>Normal<\/strong> throughout October and encourage everyone to take in a spooky flick or two over there, especially since <strong>Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> seems to have <em>nothing<\/em> on tap even close to their outpouring of classics and favorites.
