Looks like we\u2019ll be continuing in the horror and thriller vein, friends and neighbors, so please take a few moments from your Thanksgiving<\/strong> doings to find out what\u2019s on our plate! For the second Report<\/strong> running, let\u2019s begin in Decatur<\/strong> where Ben Harl<\/strong> and Silver Compass Studios<\/strong> have just closed the casting call for an upcoming feature film, LASTING LIGHT<\/strong>, which is described as being \u201cabout the disappearance of a professor who is researching a mysterious cult.\u201d Presumably, crew will be hired in the New Year as Silver Compass finishes up a pet project documentary, AFTERLIFE<\/strong>, so watch their Facebook<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and web pages<\/a><\/span> closely for announcements. Northward in Bloomington-Normal<\/strong>, we\u2019ve learned from our friend and filmmaker Paul A. Brooks<\/strong> that post-production is almost complete on HUNTING FOR THE HAG<\/strong> from Into the Night Motion Pictures<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. While an early 2023 premiere, festival hopping, and distributor shopping are all still in the works, we can enjoy a sneak peek right now at Dread Central<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span> that reveals an appearance by actor Daniel Roebuck<\/strong> (THE MUNSTERS<\/strong>) as well as other HAG<\/strong> action deep in the cornfields and woods of central Illinois<\/strong>. And, back east in Champaign-Urbana<\/strong>, the belated Indiegogo <\/strong>campaign to raise initial funding<\/a><\/span> for Jeff Kacmarynski<\/strong>\u2019s expression of maternal terror, WITH CHILD<\/strong>, is finally live. Based on an award-winning screenplay for which the micro-indie creator behind ESSENCE<\/strong> has recently reclaimed the rights, WITH CHILD<\/strong> involves a woman whose pregnancy is concurrent with fantastically grotesque visions of demons that might be all too real. Pledge perks are available during the campaign, which is set to end around Friday, January 20<\/strong>, and the delivery dates imply that production is imminent, which explains all the cast introductions made in recent months by Kacmarynski and producer Alexi Angelino<\/strong> (KILL CRAFT<\/strong>)<\/a><\/span> that include Laura Ellen Wilson, Tamara Glynn<\/strong> (HALLOWEEN 5<\/strong>), and Eileen Deetz<\/strong> (THE EXORCIST<\/strong>).<\/p>\n
