Right?<\/em> Filmmakers of Champaign<\/strong>, Urbana<\/strong>, and the cities beyond have yet to produce a genre picture that ignites the national consciousness as did M3GAN<\/strong>, which opens today, but that doesn\u2019t mean our efforts aren\u2019t appreciated. For instance, columnist Paul L\u00e9<\/strong> of Bloody Disgusting<\/span><\/strong> has cited REVEALER<\/strong> in his new list of 10 features that he felt were overlooked in 2022<\/a><\/span>. Elsewhere, we\u2019ve decided to reduce our weekly listings on the Calendar<\/strong> to the core battery of C-U and adjacent theaters our dearest viewers would most likely visit. One long-distance destination that might be a bit on the deadly side is the Eagle Theater<\/strong> in downstate Robinson<\/strong> if we\u2019re to believe the creepy new horror short subject, NIGHT SHIFT<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, written by Jed Brian<\/strong> of nearby Sumner<\/strong> and directed by Alex C. Maga\u00f1a<\/strong> of California<\/strong>; unleashed on YouTube<\/strong> last Friday, December 30<\/strong>, it stars Becky Rush<\/strong> who also appeared in a previous small-screen scare from the duo, NEVER HAVE I EVER<\/strong><\/a><\/span>. And, on the same day we finally received a first look at the high-profile sequel EVIL DEAD RISE<\/strong>, Fangoria<\/span><\/strong> revealed a trailer for the extremely modest and decades-later follow-up<\/a><\/span>, MUTILATOR 2<\/strong>, which features the busy east central Illinois<\/strong> native Cody Renee Cameron<\/strong> in its cast. To close, we\u2019re sharing the photo below as proof that it\u2019s rare anymore when one walks past a marquee and is amused or surprised; who knew the VIP Roxy Cinema<\/strong> in downtown Ottawa<\/strong> had the confidence to book the one-night showing of WINNIE THE POOH: BLOOD AND HONEY<\/strong><\/a><\/span> from bargain peddlers ITN Distribution<\/strong> and quickie UK house Jagged Edge Productions<\/strong>?
