Right now, we\u2019d like to pay our respects to the highest-profile example of cinema culture that emerged locally before the start of the new millennium, for it returns this week with all the bells and whistles that should greet an institution when reaching its 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>The Virginia Theatre<\/strong> in downtown Champaign will host the silver jubilee edition of <strong>Roger Ebert\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong>, presented by the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"College of Media :: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign\" href=\"https:\/\/media.illinois.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>College of Media<\/strong> at the <strong>University of Illinois<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and <strong>Chaz Ebert<\/strong>, beginning later tonight, <strong>Wednesday, April 17<\/strong>, with a screening of <strong>Bob Fosse<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>STAR 80<\/strong> and its own stars, <strong>Mariel Hemingway<\/strong> and <strong>Eric Roberts<\/strong>, in attendance. The entire schedule for 2024, including the newer <strong>Ebert Symposium<\/strong> organized in tandem with the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Roger Ebert Center for Film Studies :: College of Media at Illinois\" href=\"https:\/\/media.illinois.edu\/ebertcenter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Roger Ebert Center for Film Studies<\/strong><\/a><\/span> at UIUC, is shared with you below.
