E. Staley<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"FIELDS OF GOLD :: Amazon Prime\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/video\/detail\/B0CV9LX2ZH\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is now available to watch on <strong>Amazon Prime<\/strong><\/a><\/span>; the Spencer team, including <strong>Tim Lynn<\/strong> and <strong>Laura Richter<\/strong>, also just received a <strong>Mid-America Emmy Award<\/strong> for <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"MUSIC OF HOPE :: Spencer Films\" href=\"https:\/\/spencerfilmsllc.com\/music-of-hope\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their affecting short subject, <strong>MUSIC OF HOPE<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, about the outreach done by <strong>University of Illinois-Springfield<\/strong> instructor and violinist <strong>Dr. Yona Stamatis<\/strong> to keep alive the memory of those affected by the <strong>Holocaust<\/strong>. Happening as well in the Capital City is the 23rd annual <strong>Route 66 International Film Festival<\/strong>, which is <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Route 66 International Film Festival :: Official Site\" href=\"https:\/\/www.route66filmfestival.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">showing a program of approximately thirty shorts and features<\/a><\/span> between today, <strong>Friday, November 1<\/strong>, and tomorrow, <strong>Saturday, November 2<\/strong>, at the <strong>Hoogland Center for the Arts<\/strong> in the downtown district; the array includes a half-dozen \u201cMade in Illinois\u201d selections, such as <strong>Ben Harl<\/strong>\u2019s documentary <strong>AFTERLIFE<\/strong> and <strong>Thomas Nicol<\/strong>\u2019s drama <strong>THE VENUS GAMBIT<\/strong>, and a set of shorts made by youth involved in the local <strong>4-H<\/strong> chapter. MICRO-FILM #1 | Released on October 29, 1999\u2019 by Jason Pankoke :: The MICRO-FILM Review\" href=\"https:\/\/microfilmreview.wordpress.com\/2024\/10\/30\/25-years-micro-film-issue-1-released-on-october-29-1999\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">behold the \u201canniversary collage\u201d made by <strong>Ye Ed<\/strong><\/a><\/span> over on a site we haven\u2019t had a legitimate occasion to highlight for some time \u2013 and we might as well point out the less-obvious dual meaning of it. Even though <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">C-U Blogfidential<\/span><\/strong> was launched in 2006 and its companion print digest arrived the following year, it was within <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MICRO-FILM<\/span> issue 1<\/strong> where the concept of characterizing the movies of <strong>Champaign<\/strong>, Urbana, and the cities beyond under the \u201c<strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong>\u201d umbrella was born. Therefore, the overall project of chronicling and lifting up the film culture local to us has technically reached the quarter-century mark of existence along with our original <strong>Paper Opteryx<\/strong> endeavor. Since we don\u2019t have the master files handy from the past life of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">MICRO-FILM<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 who knew we\u2019d reach a point where CD-ROMs and compatible drives were not needed in the weekly workflow? \u2013 we\u2019ll share a snap of the very first page of content to ever brandish that Confidential flair. We need to celebrate this close-to-impossible DIY milestone, we know, and should have figured it out by now.
