(Warner Brothers Entertainment)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog Art\/cublog_calendarBNR329_informant.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"574\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To start, <strong>Warner Brothers Entertainment<\/strong> released a UHD of <strong>THE INFORMANT!<\/strong> this past <strong>Tuesday, April 15<\/strong>, we suppose to tie in with filmmaker <strong>Steven Soderbergh<\/strong>\u2019s recent theatrical one-two of <strong>BLACK BAG<\/strong> and <strong>PRESENCE<\/strong>? The corporate intrigue tale starring<strong> Matt Damon<\/strong> as the real-life <strong>Archer Daniels Midland<\/strong> executive and whistleblower, <strong>Mark Whitacre<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"INFORMANT! vids out Feb. 23 :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=1615\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has been available on home video formats since 2010<\/a><\/span> and, unless one was hankering for a hi-def edition of this movie or at least the location photography done in the <strong>Decatur<\/strong> region with local sights and folks in plain view, one wonders what the appeal will be at this late stage. Product descriptions online do not indicate any extras, <em>but<\/em>, the prior discs were pretty spare to begin with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"PROJECT OMICRON (VHSHitfest\/OCN Distribution)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog Art\/cublog_calendarBNR329_projomicron.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"517\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A pair of \u201clost\u201d indies from the late Nineties-early Aughts with a direct link to our past activities is about to resurface. <strong>MVD Rewind Collection<\/strong> and <strong>Smodcastle Cinema<\/strong>, both reissue labels of <strong>MVD Visual<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"A BETTER PLACE Blu-ray :: MVD Shop\" href=\"https:\/\/mvdshop.com\/products\/a-better-place-directors-cut-blu-ray\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will put out a Blu-ray \u201cdirector\u2019s cut\u201d of <strong>A BETTER PLACE<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, one of the older non-<strong>Kevin Smith<\/strong> flicks from <strong>View Askew Productions<\/strong>, on <strong>Tuesday, May 27<\/strong>; <strong>Vincent Pereira<\/strong>\u2019s story of an uneasy friendship between teens played by <strong>Eion Bailey<\/strong> and <strong>Robert DiPatri<\/strong> made the cover of <strong>MICRO-FILM 3<\/strong> in late 2000. Also, the brain trust behind <strong>VHSHitfest<\/strong> (read that <em>slowly<\/em> and <em>carefully<\/em>) <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"PROJECT OMICRON Blu-ray :: Vinegar Syndrome\" href=\"https:\/\/vinegarsyndrome.com\/collections\/frontpage-partner-labels\/products\/project-omicron\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">have rescued the crafty lo-fi sci-fi flick <strong>PROJECT OMICRON<\/strong><\/a><\/span> for a Blu-ray rebirth that will be available on the same date, <strong>May 27<\/strong>, through the <strong>Vinegar Syndrome\/OCN Distribution<\/strong> machine; creator <strong>Jared Whitman<\/strong> was a whimsical treat to have on hand when he visited the C-U in support of his film\u2019s screening at the 2000 <strong>Freaky Film Festival<\/strong> and, per the VS product page, his presence will be in full force on the disc. We\u2019re giddy to see this again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"BROTHERS AFTER WAR (SDG Releasing\/Mill Creek Entertainment)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Images\/CUBlog Art\/cublog_calendarBNR329_brosafterwar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"448\" height=\"629\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Jake Rademacher<\/strong>\u2019s documentary <strong>BROTHERS AFTER WAR<\/strong>, a follow-up to the 2009 feature <strong>BROTHERS AT WAR<\/strong> from <strong>Samuel Goldwyn Films<\/strong> and <strong>Summit Entertainment<\/strong>, was presented to servicemen and their guests at special events across the <strong>United States<\/strong> over the last year thanks to direct support from the <strong>Gary Sinise Foundation<\/strong>. <strong>AFTER WAR<\/strong> will make its DVD debut on (once again!) <strong>Tuesday, May 27<\/strong>, from <strong>Mill Creek Entertainment<\/strong> after a limited theatrical release in February through <strong>SDG Releasing<\/strong>; <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"BROTHERS AFTER WAR @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/brothersafterwar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the films consecutively follow the experiences had by Rademacher\u2019s two brothers and their fellow soldiers<\/a><\/span> while fighting in the <strong>Iraq War<\/strong> and transitioning back out of service into civilian life. We\u2019ve talked about this a couple of times on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CUBlog<\/span><\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Crop of horrors yields CORN, more :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=15622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most recently in late 2023<\/a><\/span>, and apparently the long-gestating project from <strong>Cheevies Film Productions<\/strong> can <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"TORTURE THE FLESH Blu-ray (MOD) :: Deep Discount\" href=\"https:\/\/www.deepdiscount.com\/torture-the-flesh\/840418325582\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finally be yours thanks to distributor <strong>Leomark Studios<\/strong> and the magic of MOD<\/a><\/span> as of next <strong>Tuesday, April 22<\/strong>.
