Since we\u2019ve been late in getting our festival coverage filed for your planning needs<\/a><\/span>, dearest readers, we\u2019re going to point you to a few other media sources where publicity for the event have already appeared. First, Smile Politely<\/span><\/strong>\u2019s Amy Penne<\/strong> gives the Lumi\u00e8re a giant vote of confidence in her preview and interview with organizer Nat Dykeman<\/strong> and, if you don\u2019t already realize the movies and local movie mavens hit a sweet spot for her, it is made very clear in this article<\/a><\/span>. Also adding to the visibility of Lumi\u00e8re is this nice overview provided by Sam Rink<\/strong><\/a><\/span> at the IPM Newsroom<\/strong> in which he talks with Dykeman as well as Keenan Dailey<\/strong> and Trude Namara<\/strong> of BRIM<\/strong> (Thursday, May 29, 6 p.m.<\/strong>) and Chase Todd<\/strong> of AN AFFAIR AT THE END OF TIME<\/strong> (Sunday, June 1, 3:15 p.m.<\/strong>). WCIS-TV<\/strong>, the ABC<\/strong> affiliate in Springfield<\/strong>, ran this notice and it reads like a press release<\/a><\/span> sent over by the Village of Savoy<\/strong>, which signed on as the first major sponsor of Lumi\u00e8re, as it directly quotes village president John Brown<\/strong> and trustee Larry Kanfer<\/strong> ahead of our man Dykeman. (In fact, it is<\/em> a press release; we had to look on the Savoy<\/strong> municipal website to find a link to a PDF of it<\/a><\/span> as it was not readily appearing in Google<\/strong> searches.) We know through the grapevine that at least a couple of radio segments were had at places like WEFT-FM<\/strong> and the Lumi\u00e8re is being name-checked by organizations who always have one eye on community activity that can translate into economic gains, such as the Champaign County Film Office<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and Experience Champaign-Urbana<\/strong><\/a><\/span>. All in all, a passable first-time showing for the C-U at large to afford the Lumi\u00e8re their time and attention in advance.
