First, <strong>Champaign Movie Makers<\/strong> is meeting on <strong>Monday, June 16, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, at their home away from home and film sets, the <strong>Esquire Lounge<\/strong> in downtown <strong>Champaign<\/strong>, where you\u2019ll be guaranteed to hear <em>all<\/em> about <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Pens to Lens @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PensToLens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pens to Lens<\/strong> movies in the works<\/a><\/span>. Second, our friend <strong>Bob Zimmerman<\/strong> of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"R.A.Z. Films @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100063529484016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>R.A.Z. Films<\/strong><\/a><\/span> has been on the scene this last week videotaping the practice sessions and sightseeing of the returning members of <strong>REO Speedwagon<\/strong>, just like seemingly <em>every other<\/em> media outlet in the C-U, leading up to the band\u2019s charity concert at the UI <strong>State Farm Center<\/strong> tomorrow night, <strong>Saturday, June 14<\/strong>; we\u2019ll eventually learn what REO and R.A.Z.\u2019s plans for the footage will be. Third, the <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Illinois Film Office :: Illinois DCEO\" href=\"https:\/\/dceo.illinois.gov\/whyillinois\/film.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Illinois Film Office<\/strong><\/a><\/span> has announced the annual <strong>Shortcuts<\/strong> short film competition for <strong>Illinois<\/strong>-based students and young people age 22 and under with a submission deadline of <strong>August 31<\/strong>. Unlike in the past where the end goal for entrants was to be selected and possibly awarded at a Shortcuts screening, the current iteration is promising the overall Shortcuts winner will play (and a few other Shortcuts films <em>might<\/em> play) at an event scheduled for November in <strong>Rockford<\/strong> that is called <strong>815HORTS<\/strong> and is casting its own net for content worldwide; <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"815HORTS :: Plus Seven Company\" href=\"https:\/\/www.plussevencompany.com\/815horts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can read more about that at the website<\/a><\/span> of what we take is the promotions and marketing firm behind 815HORTS, <strong>Plus Seven Company<\/strong>. Fourth and finally, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Indie Horror Films from Acrostar Productions\u2019 group @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/599853667981489\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Acrostar Productions<\/strong><\/a><\/span> has announced the horror-adventure they filmed covertly in the <strong>Champaign County<\/strong> outskirts the summer of last year, <strong>RETURN OF THE CORN ZOMBIES<\/strong>, is completed and the assets delivered to their distributor, <strong>BayView Entertainment<\/strong>, which will soon offer the film on streaming sites and BD-R media.
