Theaters will be a topic, as they are wont to be here on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CUBlog<\/span><\/strong>, and a couple of events touch upon that. If you happen to see this by late in the morning tomorrow, <strong>Saturday, May 30<\/strong>, then you will have enough time to get out the door and join the <strong>Champaign County History Museum<\/strong>\u2019s walking tour of downtown <strong>Champaign<\/strong> in which the long history of theater spaces will be explored. Start time is <strong>1 p.m.<\/strong> and <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Home Page :: Champaign County History Museum\" href=\"https:\/\/www.champaigncountyhistory.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tickets are still available as of this writing<\/a><\/span>. Also, the visitor\u2019s bureau for the county, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Experience Champaign-Urbana @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/experiencechampaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Experience Champaign-Urbana<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, recently honored a few local business owners who\u2019ve made an investment and difference in the community with what they do; \u201cBrilliant Spirit\u201d award winners for 2026 include our friends <strong>Anne<\/strong> and <strong>Chris Lukeman<\/strong>, UIUC alums and low-budget filmmakers who\u2019ve found success and acclaim with their elaborate and immersive spaces in <strong>Urbana<\/strong>, <strong>CU Adventures in Time &amp; Space<\/strong> (rotating escape rooms) and <strong>Parcadia<\/strong> (a ren faire-flavored indoor miniature golf course), as well as <strong>Steven Bentz<\/strong>, the director of the <strong>Virginia Theatre<\/strong> in downtown Champaign (absolutely a stop on the walking tour) for the <strong>Champaign Park District<\/strong>. We have some related threads, however. Starting bright and early at<strong> 8 a.m.<\/strong> on Saturday is the latest intensive workshop to be offered through <strong>Flyover Film Studios<\/strong> in <strong>Rantoul<\/strong>; the two-day event, titled \u201cProduction Department Intensive: For Emerging Filmmakers,\u201d will be held at the <strong>Rantoul Business Center<\/strong> adjacent to the Flyover campus and instruct on all the primary roles and expectations one might find on an active film set. Registration for this has probably been closed for some time, so those who are interested in future classes on this or other avenues that are related to serious participation in the making of movies should <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Official Site :: Flyover Film Studios\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flyoverfilmstudios.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">keep tabs on this website and sign up for any email lists they offer<\/a><\/span>. (We\u2019ve noticed they are going light with social media, including <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"Flyover Film Studios @ Instagram\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/flyoverfilmstudios\/reels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this barely-utilized <strong>Instagram<\/strong> account<\/a><\/span>, so older contact methods are apparently preferred.) We also just learned that our comrades at <strong>Acrostar Productions<\/strong> will be taking their third \u201ccorn zombies\u201d movie on the road and past east central <strong>Illinois<\/strong>, but not so far out of reach that we can\u2019t lend a severed hand or two. Whereas <strong>ATTACK OF<\/strong>\u2026 and <strong>RETURN OF THE CORN ZOMBIES<\/strong> were shot on location in various small towns adjacent to Champaign-Urbana and <strong>Bloomington-Normal<\/strong>, the bulk of <strong>REVENGE OF THE CORN ZOMBIES<\/strong> will be produced in the preserved structure of the former <strong>Indiana State Santorium<\/strong>, located on <strong>Route 36<\/strong> not too far inside the <strong>Indiana<\/strong> state line; the grounds are in <strong>Rockville<\/strong>, which is a little bit closer to <strong>Terre Haute<\/strong> than <strong>Danville<\/strong>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"REVENGE OF THE CORN ZOMBIES campaign @ Crowdfundr\" href=\"https:\/\/crowdfundr.com\/cornzombies?ref=ab_4wfwlb4PEbI4wfwlb4PEbI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Acrostar team has their fundraising campaign live here<\/a><\/span>, which includes sponsorships that can earn you placement in the film as a zombie or extra among other participatory perks, so take a look and see what looks good and grueling to you. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"\u2018Indie Horror Films from Acrostar Productions\u2019 group @ Facebook\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/trepidityindiehorrorfilm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The producers have been announcing over the past few days<\/a><\/span> the actors who will appear in <strong>REVENGE<\/strong> and it looks to continue more directly from <strong>RETURN<\/strong> than the original. <strong>BayView Entertainment<\/strong> will distribute the trilogy\u2019s concluding chapter \u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Time to wind down the <strong>Teletype<\/strong> with the announcement that we\u2019ll finally be able to watch on all of our personal devices <strong>THE FAWN<\/strong>, <strong>Jason Huls<\/strong>\u2019 folk horror short that we\u2019ve invoked in a couple of prior <strong>Calendars<\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"THE FAWN :: \u2018Ten Wing Media\u2019 channel @ YouTube\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6d7REnahhpQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">when it premieres on <strong>YouTube<\/strong> at <strong>4 p.m.<\/strong> Central time<\/a><\/span> this Saturday at the<strong> Ten Wing Media<\/strong> channel.
