After a pair of late-night previews during this past weekend\u2019s <strong>Summer Camp Music Festival<\/strong> at <strong>Three Sisters Park<\/strong> in <strong>Chillicothe, IL<\/strong>, documentary maker <strong>R.C. Raycraft<\/strong> will present\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><a style=\"color: #800000;\" title=\"INCIDENT AT KICKAPOO CREEK :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kickapoocreekmovie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>INCIDENT AT KICKAPOO CREEK<\/strong><\/a><\/span> tonight, <strong>Monday, May 31, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, at the <strong>Normal Theater, 209 North St., Normal<\/strong>, marking the 40th anniversary of its namesake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Following the original <strong>Woodstock Music &amp; Art Fair<\/strong> in New York by almost a year, the \u201c<strong>Incident at Kickapoo Creek<\/strong>\u201d was a Midwestern attempt to provide a mix of peace, love, rock, and nature on farmland near <strong>Heyworth, IL<\/strong>. Promoted by the late <strong>L. David Lewis<\/strong> and booked by then-UIUC student <strong>Irving Azoff<\/strong>, the Incident attracted <strong>B.B. King, Canned Heat, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Amboy Dukes<\/strong> with <strong>Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon<\/strong>, dozens of additional performers, and thousands of young adults during <strong>Memorial Day<\/strong> weekend 1970 to the little town situated just south of <strong>Bloomington-Normal<\/strong>. The Raycraft film mixes interviews, police surveillance footage, sound recordings, and stories of intrigue involving illegal profits, biker security, law enforcement, and unhappy Heyworth townsfolk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">~~~~~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"The field has become a tent village on the Lewis family farm in Heyworth, Illinois, as thousands attend the Incident at Kickapoo Creek rock concert over Memorial Day Weekend in 1970.
