The adventure concerns husband-and-wife teachers and their son who discover a cosmic portal hovering above the lake on their country property. Dreamscape head honcho <strong>Robin Christian<\/strong> will direct from his own script and son <strong>Logan Peters<\/strong> will play the lead. According to line producer <strong>Johnny Robinson<\/strong>, production assistants and other crew positions are still available during the two-week shoot; interested parties should contact him at <strong>johnny [at] johnnyrobinson [dot] com<\/strong> or <strong>(217) 714-2748<\/strong> as soon as possible for consideration. As an attempt to distract my mind during his stay, I attended an <strong>Indianapolis <\/strong>convention celebrating <a title=\"Forrest J Ackerman, 1916-2008 :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=316\" target=\"_blank\">one of my original inspirations<\/a> for embarking on a movie media life, <a title=\"Famous Monsters of Filmland :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.famousmonstersoffilmland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Famous Monsters of Filmland<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, now resurrected for a second time by <strong>IDW Publishing<\/strong> and entrepreneur <strong>Philip Kim<\/strong>. Needless to say, I had a <em>really <\/em>hard time letting go and having fun because my heart simply wasn\u2019t into it. A different story transpired nearly two decades ago when my college graduation present was a weekend trip to <strong>Arlington, Virginia<\/strong>, with my father to attend a prior FM convention which launched the fan mag\u2019s first rebirth at the hands of <strong>Dynacomm <\/strong>and entrepreneur <strong>Ray Ferry<\/strong>. Despite what Ferry wrought on the property as time passed, I had a ball at that show and it\u2019s a memory that won\u2019t be tarnished.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But, that was a younger eager-beaver version of me standing amongst the genre\u2019s old guard, most of who are with us no longer. Last month\u2019s FM show seemed to be little more than a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fangoria<\/span> <\/strong>convention in a <strong>Ben Cooper<\/strong> disguise. I didn\u2019t feel like talking to the so-called cult celebrities, chatting with the new guard publishers, or carousing with the indie filmmakers and artists tabling their wares. I haven\u2019t even read the new issues yet. Would I have reacted more favorably if Dad hadn\u2019t been in his situation? I\u2019m not so sure. In recent years, the genre and all its rubbery baggage have begun to wear out their welcome.
