\nC-U Confidential no. 4 is Available for Download!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We finally settled on \u201cC-U Confidential Revue<\/strong>\u201d as the name for our new YouTube <\/strong>channel and should have more than 50 videos added to the playlists by this time next week, so head on over if you have yet to become a friend and subscriber!<\/a> (Besides, we have to show off our snappy new color scheme and background design to someone<\/em>\u2026) Friends of our humble editor can also check out his personal Crimson Mole<\/strong> site<\/a>; it doesn\u2019t feature much substance at the moment but he pledges to bulk up during the cold winter months! Additionally, we added a complete lo-res PDF of C-U Confidential<\/strong> issue 4 here on C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> that you can download and share with friends and colleagues<\/a>! PRODUCTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

CUBlog <\/strong>caught up with University of Illinois<\/strong> alumnus and ONE FINE DAY!<\/strong><\/a> co-creator Derek Klein<\/strong> last week to get the final word on his guerilla hour-long feature experiment A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW<\/strong>, which quietly hit DVD via Amazon<\/strong>\u2019s CreateSpace <\/strong>in May. \u201cPOV <\/strong>was mainly a reunion project for the OFD!<\/strong> crew and a challenge to ourselves,\u201d says Klein, whose team shot the no-budget, reciprocal mystery-drama within six intensive days during the university\u2019s Spring Break of 2009. \u201cIt was never really intended for the festival circuit, but it has given a lot of the cast and crew the marks on their resumes to start pursuing careers in acting,\u201d he continues, \u201cand as for myself, the small projects at UIUC are what allowed me to progress as fast as I have out here in Hollywood <\/strong>\u2026 that was the original goal of both OFD!<\/strong> and POV<\/strong>, simply to provide film and television making experience at a university that still really has no film program. I consider these projects a success.\u201d Following the game plan<\/a> of POV<\/strong>\u2019s screenwriter character Ben Falls \u2013 minus the pornographic material \u2013 Klein has been actively developing serialized Web projects in the hopes that they will be produced commercially. \u201cWe\u2019re actually pitching them to some networks so who knows, maybe you\u2019ll be able to catch them on cable one of these days,\u201d anticipates Klein. The DVD-R includes the full 63-minute movie, a commentary track by Klein and actor Connor Chambers<\/strong>, an alternate ending, a blooper reel, and the original trailer<\/a>. Closer to home, News-Gazette<\/strong><\/span> companion magazine Central Illinois Business<\/strong><\/span> offers a standard-issue profile<\/a> of local filmmaker Robin Christian<\/strong> and Dreamscape Cinema<\/strong> in their September edition. Finally, we spread back out internationally thanks to your humble editor\u2019s Ma JaPan<\/strong>, who discovered several (1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>, 4<\/a>) of the \u201cPlaying for Change<\/strong><\/a>\u201d music videos seen throughout Roger Ebert\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong> in the spring.<\/p>\n
