{"id":2289,"date":"2010-10-29T21:59:55","date_gmt":"2010-10-30T03:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=2289"},"modified":"2014-09-06T14:55:34","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T20:55:34","slug":"iow-farm-boys-dread-undead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=2289","title":{"rendered":"IOW: FARM boys dread undead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One thing we figured out early in the Age of <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> is that it\u2019s often hard to accurately set up discussion for a movie we haven\u2019t seen yet, even more so when the outward appearances of something like <strong>FARM <\/strong>all but say, \u201cThe devil is in the details of <em>this<\/em> motion picture.\u201d Thanks to editor <strong>Andrew Gleason<\/strong>, whom <a title=\"C-U Biz-en-sc\u00e8ne: 10.28.2010 :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=2275\" target=\"_blank\">we quoted yesterday<\/a> in <strong>C-U Biz-en-sc\u00e8ne<\/strong>, we\u2019ve read through the <strong>FARM <\/strong>press notes in advance of writing about it. They\u2019re certainly specific enough about the core filmmakers\u2019 background and the movie\u2019s stressful two-year genesis yet, conveniently, the dramatic plot synopsis does little more than broadly draw the characters, the setting, and the fact that a form of Armageddon is upon them. Darn you, creative types! At least they\u2019re consistent, since the first full trailer hints at no more or less than the promo copy, while you seriously <em>must <\/em>dig on that gorgeous final shot:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"450\" height=\"270\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/X5Yg1I6h4lI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"450\" height=\"270\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/X5Yg1I6h4lI?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You\u2019ll also <a title=\"FARM :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.farmthemovie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">find the official <strong>FARM <\/strong>Web site<\/a> to be sparse in strange ways, especially since the filmmakers\u2019 identities are all but nonexistent here. (One wonders if they had <em>faux v\u00e9rit\u00e9<\/em> in mind at some point.) We do learn a bit about the principal actors: <strong>Missouri<\/strong> native <strong>Michael Hotop<\/strong> (\u201cCharlie\u201d) has done construction and factory work but is gunning for full-time acting employment, <strong>Freddie Meyer<\/strong> (\u201cSimon\u201d) comes from the <strong>Chicago <\/strong>suburbs and loves to play drums, and <strong>Ashley Salazar<\/strong> (\u201cSarah\u201d) lives in <strong>St. Louis<\/strong> and is a professional model and photographer. <a title=\"Ashley Salazar :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ashleysalazar.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Her own Web site also details a million other things<\/a> this ambitious 26-year-old is or was involved in, such as a six-year Air Force career and a budding sideline as an amateur MMA fighter. One hopes the latter came into play down on the <strong>FARM<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Below you can enjoy some behind-the-scenes pictures that show off the titular living quarters and feature actors Salazar (<em>pictures 1, 4<\/em>), Hotop (<em>1, 4<\/em>), and Meyer (<em>5 left<\/em>), co-directors <strong>Andrew M.
