The challenge begins on <strong>Friday, November 5, 5 p.m.<\/strong>, when all registered teams will receive their prompts and be sent on their merry way to create and hand in their entries by <strong>Sunday, November 7, 6 p.m.<\/strong> (Pick-up and drop-off locations will presumably be revealed to the teams at some point this week.) All films successfully completed will be shown on <strong>Monday, November 8, 7:30 p.m.<\/strong>, in the <strong>Illini Union Ballroom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For those unfamiliar with the challenge, sponsored this year by the <strong>Illini Tech Center<\/strong>, the following description from the e-mail blast details how it works:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 3em;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Each team receives the following to incorporate into their film:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em> A line of dialog (for example: &#8220;Don&#8217;t go in there.&#8221;)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> A type of camera shot (for example: &#8220;low angle&#8221;)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> A type of character (for example: an alien) <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Each team&#8217;s film will be judged by a panel of judges on the following categories:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em> Originality\/creativity: 20 pts<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Use of line of dialogue\/camera shot\/character: 20 pts<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Visual style: 20 pts<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Overall film: 40 pts<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Total points possible: 100<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>The film can be five minutes long, plus one minute of credits, for a total of up to six minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>The credits can contain music by no other narrative or emotional continuation of the film.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Awards:<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em> Best Film<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Audience Choice<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"margin: 3em;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you haven\u2019t signed up yet, visit <a title=\"49-Hour Film Festival :: Illini Film &amp; Video\" href=\"http:\/\/illinifilmandvideo.com\/49.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/illinifilmandvideo.com\/49.html<\/a> and send your information to IFV by<strong>12 p.m.<\/strong> on <strong>Thursday, November 4<\/strong>.
