Guess we\u2019ll take it down a notch or two and save our collective strength since the magic <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> ball is displaying an ever-increasing plethora of upcoming movie goodness in <strong>Champaign, Urbana<\/strong> and the cities beyond. Sadly, this sort of deluge exposes one of our recurring issues \u2013 the lack of people-power to adequately cover everything going down \u2013 but well-timed overtures from friends and colleagues <em>do <\/em>help stoke the creative fires. Cases in point, we\u2019d like to introduce two new contributors to <strong>C-U Blogfidential<\/strong>! Long-time supporter and local filmmaker <strong>Robin Christian<\/strong> has submitted his first articles talking about his interaction with the movie industry outside <strong>Champaign County<\/strong> in an effort to distribute and produce <strong>Dreamscape Cinema<\/strong> productions. <a title=\"NATPE expo shows value of TV :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=2330\" target=\"_blank\">In his first piece run a few weeks ago<\/a>, Christian describes his experience at the <strong>National Association of Television Program Executives<\/strong> conference in January 2010 while in the second, coming next <strong>Monday, January 10<\/strong>, he highlights a visit last November to the <strong>American Film Market<\/strong> and the <strong>American Film Institute<\/strong> (AFI) <strong>Film Festival<\/strong>. Also, long-time friend and former <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> subject <strong>Tyler Tharpe<\/strong> of <strong>Innerworld Pictures<\/strong> in <strong>Indianapolis <\/strong>will write an as-yet-untitled column offering a unique first-person perspective as both an independent filmmaker <em>and<\/em> a film exhibitor in the Midwest; the introductory entry will appear at the end of this month. Welcome aboard, gentlemen!<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 3em; text-align: left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>CLASSES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For the next two weeks, <strong>CUBlog <\/strong>might resemble \u201cRobin Christian Central\u201d because relevant <a title=\"Dreamscape Cinema :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dreamscapecinema.com\/index-dsc.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dreamscape Cinema<\/a> news is popping up in coincidental and rapid succession. We just told you about Christian\u2019s articles and <a title=\"IOW: Dreamscape goes to dogs :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=2463\" target=\"_blank\">recently broke the news about the impending national DVD release<\/a> of the studio\u2019s first medium-budget feature <strong>SHEEBA <\/strong>on <strong>Tuesday, January 18<\/strong>, through <strong>Questar Home Video<\/strong> of <strong>Chicago<\/strong>. We also will discuss in next week\u2019s <strong>CUBiz <\/strong>a bit more about Dreamscape\u2019s return to low-budget territory, <a title=\"DISPOSABLE :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dispmovie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DISPOSABLE<\/strong><\/a>, which will World Premiere on <strong>Thursday, January 13, 7 p.m.<\/strong>, at the <strong>Canopy Club, 708 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana, IL<\/strong>. However, for right now, we\u2019d like to concentrate on a new direction Christian and Dreamscape are taking with the help of filmmaking instructor <a title=\"Johnny Robinson :: Official Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.johnnyrobinson.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Johnny Robinson<\/strong><\/a>. According to a promotional flier we received, which <a title=\"Dreamscape Cinema film classes flier for download\" href=\"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/Downloads\/CUBlog\/public\/DSC_Classes _Jan11.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">you can download in PDF format by clicking here<\/a>, Dreamscape will offer instructional classes this spring. One will cover script development and meet weekly over eight weeks beginning <strong>Wednesday, March 16<\/strong>, and the other will highlight all key steps in film production and meet weekly over eight weeks beginning <strong>Thursday, March 17<\/strong>. Space in each class is limited to 15 persons and registration is open through <strong>Sunday, February 20<\/strong>; enrollment cost per class is $299.00. Interestingly, the flier all but announces that Dreamscape will shoot a new feature later this year so we\u2019ll pass along details soon.
