Editor’s note:<\/em>\u00a0According to the linked article, this is the first large-scale group show featuring work made by undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Program in Arts Technology<\/strong>, which you can learn more about right here<\/a>. Led by program director Shari Zeck<\/strong>, who also teaches cinema studies courses through the School of Theatre<\/strong>, this interdisciplinary track allows individuals to develop skills in their chosen field (performance, music, dance, the arts) with current digital tools and computer applications. C-U Blogfidential<\/strong> agent davep<\/strong> earned this degree a few years back, emphasizing music composition in an experimental vein, and he gave the experience good marks despite having to haul ass to\u00a0Normal<\/strong> multiple times every week. Poster Children<\/strong> rock star Rose Marshack<\/strong> now makes a similar commute since she is an Arts Technology instructor, and it’s no surprise to learn she has a piece in this exhibit. Go Rose!<\/p>\n

If you’re not familiar with Ilinois State University<\/strong>\u00a0but would like to\u00a0take a crack at\u00a0“Test Pattern Sound Check<\/strong>,” which will close after Friday, September 12<\/strong>,\u00a0study this map well<\/a>\u00a0since address listings for campus buildings over yonder are usually in the form of Post Office boxes. Note that a convenient parking garage looms to the west of the Center for the Visual Arts<\/strong> building; street parking is otherwise two or more blocks away in all directions.<\/p>\n

And now, some thoughts about knocking together the heads of trustees and deans at both ISU and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign<\/strong> over their year-round nearsightedness that apparently excuses the lack of full-fledged film production schools on their respective camp…<\/p>\n

Oh, shucks<\/em>, it’s late. [Yawns.]\u00a0For another time, y’all. ‘Night.<\/p>\n
