If you haven’t discerned it yet, we’ve relegated “Coming Soon” to an occasional round-up instead of a regular fixture. It became clear that compiling and contextualizing this sort of\u00a0information takes quality time and honest work in order to do it accurately, which also affects our efforts to post other kinds of\u00a0material on C-U Blogfidential<\/strong>. And\u00a0so it goes with a regular staff of one.<\/p>\n

We will soon be working with outside forces to remedy this situation with a\u00a0calendar application that filmmakers, educators, and promoters may use to submit timely events of a local nature. Until then, feel free to send your scoop to\u00a0cuconfidential [at] gmail [dot] com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For once, we’re actually batting under .500 in the “heardaboutit” category with only IN BRUGES<\/strong> (9\/11-12)\u00a0and Martin Scorcese<\/strong>‘s SHINE A LIGHT<\/strong> (9\/25-26, 9\/28)\u00a0ringing a bell. Thursday, September 11,\u00a05:30 p.m.<\/strong>: The IPRH Film Series<\/strong>\u00a0returns with a screening and discussion of\u00a08 1\/2<\/strong>\u00a0(1963), directed by\u00a0Federico Fellini<\/strong>\u00a0and starring Marcello Mastroianni<\/strong>, and how it relates to the year-long theme of \u201cDisciplinarity: Films on Film.\u201d The series will continue with HEARTS OF DARKNESS<\/strong> (1991, Oct. 9), ED WOOD<\/strong> (1994, Oct. 30), and SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN<\/strong> (1952, Nov. 13).
