{"id":294,"date":"2008-10-13T01:48:42","date_gmt":"2008-10-13T07:48:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=294"},"modified":"2014-09-06T14:58:40","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T20:58:40","slug":"ape-screams-werewolf-on-oct-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=294","title":{"rendered":"APE screams WEREWOLF Oct. 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: left\">So, I shows up at <strong>Mike &#8216;n&#8217; Molly&#8217;s<\/strong> last Monday night and says to the doorman, &#8220;Doorman, where is the projector?&#8221; To which the doorman responds, &#8220;There are no <strong>Brainsmart Productions<\/strong> showing tonight, <strong>LensCap<\/strong>.&#8221; So, then I listens carefully and reacts to the lack of merriment by saying to the doorman, &#8220;Doorman, where is the <em>laughter<\/em>?&#8221; To which the doorman responds, &#8220;There is no performance by <strong>The Abe Froman Project<\/strong> tonight, LensCap.&#8221; So, <em>then<\/em> I steps in the joint and stumbles upon a sound check coming from the same stairwell and says to the doorman, &#8220;Doorman, what is <em>that<\/em>?&#8221; To which the doorman responds, &#8220;That&#8217;s rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll, dumbass.&#8221; So, I takes my dollar\u00a0<strong>PBR<\/strong> upstairs and listens to local quartet <strong><a title=\"Golden Quality @ MySpace.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/goldenquality\" target=\"_blank\">Golden Quality<\/a><\/strong> (featuring Brainsmart\u00a0conspirators <strong>Mark Peaslee<\/strong> and <strong>Jim Mefford<\/strong>) and\u00a0touring pop-punk trio <strong><a title=\"Keyton @ MySpace.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/keytonmusic\" target=\"_blank\">Keyton<\/a><\/strong>. &#8220;Very good,&#8221; I says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: left\">So, it&#8217;s back to business tonight, <strong>Monday, October 13<\/strong>,\u00a0at <strong>105 N. Market St., Champaign, IL<\/strong>, where\u00a0<strong>Jason Butler<\/strong> has arranged yet another free show during which patrons can fill up the Tip Jar to feed the low-budget beast that is <strong>WEREWOLF CEMETERY: Issue 4<\/strong>. Mike &#8216;n&#8217; Molly&#8217;s patriarch <strong>Murph<\/strong> will kick in a matching donation based on what is discovered in the Tip Jar. Until that time, <strong>WEREWOLF CEMETERY: Issue 3<\/strong> (<strong>9:30 p.m.<\/strong>) and <strong>THE SECOND ADVENTURE OF THE SCREAMING APE<\/strong> (<strong>11 p.m.<\/strong>) will shake the pillars of heaven (a.k.a. the beer garden) while bringing everyone up-to-date on Brainsmart output. He&#8217;s actually enjoying it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"TEXT-ALIGN: left\">We also hope that you&#8217;ll enjoy yet another exclusive photograph from the set of <strong>WEREWOLF CEMETERY: Issue 4<\/strong>, in which JB does his best <strong>Bob the Builder<\/strong> impersonation while <strong>Buddy Ritchie<\/strong> and <strong>Andrew Bochte<\/strong> prepare to do something nasty to this effects dummy, standing in for one of several characters that will debut in the finale. Of course, far be it from <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> to spill <em>too<\/em> much about this freaky-deaky woman in black, other than the fact I just obliquely hinted at her ghastly fate.
