The dreams and hopes that lie at the heart of baseball are seen through the eyes of <strong>Cobb Field<\/strong>, a\u00a060 year old ballpark in <strong>Billings, Montana<\/strong>, and home of the <strong>Billings Mustangs<\/strong> from 1948 to 2007. The film, presented by <strong>Midland States Bank<\/strong>, will premiere at the <strong>Rosebud Theatre<\/strong> in <strong>Effingham<\/strong> on <strong>Monday, October 20<\/strong>, <strong>7 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Shot during the last weeks of Cobb Field\u2019s existence, the film imagines what Cobb Field might share about history, about baseball, and about life. From former players like <strong>Jim Kaat<\/strong> and <strong>Gary Redus<\/strong>, current players like <strong>Todd Frazier<\/strong> and <strong>Daniel Zeffiro<\/strong>, from coaches and staff members, and from umpires and fans comes a heartwarming story of baseball in the rookie leagues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cThis project has really been a labor of love,\u201d says Lindvahl. \u201cWe\u2019re huge baseball fans, and we\u2019ve fallen in love with baseball in Billings. The whole time we were there, I kept thinking \u2018this is how baseball is supposed to be.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The newly formed <strong>CEO<\/strong> (<strong>Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities<\/strong>) <strong>class<\/strong>, consisting of students from Effingham, <strong>St. Anthony<\/strong>, <strong>Beecher City<\/strong>, and <strong>Dieterich<\/strong> high school, is preparing students to start and run businesses of their own. The class has been in charge of the entire premiere, from event planning to concessions, from marketing to ticket sales. The class will use the proceeds from the event to form the \u201cbank\u201d, from which they will run small businesses of their own later in the school year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Tyler Yocum<\/strong>, a member of the CEO class, says that promoting the event has been a great learning tool. \u201cIt\u2019s great to learn about business by doing business,\u201d Yocum said, \u201cand what we\u2019re learning here will really pay off when we start our own business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The CEO class feels strongly that baseball is a family event, and the ticket structure reflects that. Standard tickets are $5.00. There are also $10.00 \u201ctriple play\u201d tickets, which include a hot dog, soda, and chips. Tickets, which are general admission, are available from any member of the CEO class, and the Rosebud Theatre, <strong>WXEF<\/strong>, and the <strong>Effingham Daily News<\/strong>. <strong>WCRA<\/strong>, <strong>WCRC<\/strong>, and <strong>WHQQ<\/strong> are also sponsors for the film\u2019s premiere.
