Bringin’ It All Back Home: <\/strong>The Principles of Independent Filmmaking<\/strong>

Filmmaker\/publisher Michael Wiese <\/strong>was born in Champaign, went to Uni High, and was a cub photographer for the News-Gazette<\/ins>.<\/p>\n

In San Francisco, he produced HARDWARE WARS<\/strong>, a popular short film parody of STAR WARS<\/strong>, and DOLPHIN<\/strong>, a PBS Special on interspecies communication. Later, at Vestron Video<\/strong>, Wiese oversaw the production and\/or acquisition of over 300 videos including programs from The Beach Boys<\/strong>, Robin Williams<\/strong>, Billy Crystal<\/strong>, Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong>, and Arnold Palmer<\/strong>, and also launched the National Geographic<\/strong><\/ins> Video series.<\/p>\n

Today, he oversees Michael Wiese Productions<\/a> <\/strong>with offices in LA and Seattle from a 200-year-old stone cottage in Cornwall, England. The company publishes more than 80 filmmaking books that are used by film professionals and students in more than 600 film schools worldwide.<\/p>\n

Wiese will show some sequences from his new digital documentary shot in Tibet, THE <\/strong>SACRED SITES OF THE DALI LAMAS<\/strong>, and discuss the principles for producing successful media.<\/p>\n

This will be only one of two U.S. appearances this year. No pre-registration is necessary. Just show up!<\/p>\n
