It took a while, but Kill Vampire Lincoln Productions<\/strong><\/a> of Champaign <\/strong>finally cut loose a full trailer for their sci-fi short ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1972<\/strong> which we share with you here because, of course, there is no better time than the present for 1972:<\/p>\n

<\/object><\/p>\n

Word is the just-wrapped follow-up, ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1973<\/strong>, expounds on what exactly warranted the earlier scuffle between adventurer Jack (Jonathan Harden<\/strong>) and \u201cBruce\u201d the robot while promoting actor Matt Fear<\/strong> to a role more substantially heavy than his line cook cameo in 1972<\/strong>. Until the sequel is unveiled, you can catch the original at several late-summer play dates including: August 6<\/strong>, 6:30 p.m. @ GenCon, Indianapolis, IN<\/em>; August 11-14<\/strong> @ Artist\u2019s Alley, WizardWorld, Chicago, IL<\/em>; September 2-5<\/strong>, date\/time TBD @ Dragon*Con, Atlanta, GA<\/em>; September 9<\/strong> @ BrainwAsh Movie Festival, Oakland, CA<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Kill Vampire Lincoln stewards Chris <\/strong>and Anne Lukeman<\/strong> have also built a portfolio for their Railsplitter Media<\/strong><\/a> agency, formed this past spring to handle video production needs in Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> and elsewhere. Although we rarely embed strictly commercial material on C-U Blogfidential<\/strong>, one can easily watch this \u201csizzle reel\u201d and not be bored for a single second:<\/p>\n

The Lukemans have even caught PopTent <\/strong>fever<\/a> along with numerous central Illinois <\/strong>neighbors, already winning two contests at the crowdsource branding site and netting more than $10,000 for their efforts! One involved a CVS <\/strong>drugstore campaign featuring Becky Griesheimer<\/strong> (BEDTIME FOR TIMMY<\/strong>) and a voiceover by Eric Sizemore<\/strong> (PRESS START 2 CONTINUE<\/strong>) while we present the other spot below, a Dell <\/strong>message starring Bill Kephart<\/strong> (REVOLTING<\/strong>), Mike Trippiedi<\/strong> (AMBER ROSE<\/strong>), and an awfully <\/em>familiar mechanical fellow\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026 whom we learn brandishes a wicked laser eye beam in promotional frolics like the above despite <\/em>its absence in his original starring role, just as with<\/a> the Japanese monster Gigan<\/strong><\/a>. We sad <\/em>now.<\/p>\n
