The Buttered Corn on the Cob Film Festival<\/strong> has already thrown out some dates related to their sophomore event, which will mark a return to 88 Broadway<\/strong> in downtown Urbana<\/strong>: Films will be accepted between now and February 20, 2012<\/strong><\/a>, while the final roster will be presented Sunday, April 15, 2012<\/strong> \u2026 The Avon Theater<\/strong><\/a> has announced a bounty of Halloween <\/strong>horror goodness, including the original 1985 FRIGHT NIGHT<\/strong> starring Chris Sarandon<\/strong> and Roddy McDowall<\/strong> on Friday, April 19<\/strong>, and their annual revival of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW<\/strong> on October 21<\/strong> and 22<\/strong>; see \u201cCommunity Film Series\u201d below in our Calendar for the rest! \u2026 Lloyd Kaufman<\/strong> and Troma Films<\/strong> will represent at this weekend\u2019s GenCon <\/strong>gaming convention<\/a> (yes, we know that\u2019s redundant) in Indianapolis<\/strong>; so will our own Thomas Nicol<\/strong>, whose THE WINDOW INTO TIME<\/strong> will grace a 10 p.m.<\/strong> \u201cHorror Shorts\u201d show later tonight, as well as Chris <\/strong>and Anne Lukeman<\/strong>, whose ONCE UPON A TIME IN 1972<\/strong> will play a \u201cSci-Fi Shorts\u201d program at 6:30 p.m.<\/strong> tomorrow, Saturday, August 6<\/strong>. Whither the twain shall meet? First, we mentioned Web site revamps for area theaters last week but forgot to include the Harvest Moon Drive-Moon<\/strong>, which did the same at the beginning of summer<\/a>, while News-Gazette<\/strong><\/span> columnist Julie Worth<\/strong> waxes nostalgic about visiting the Harvest Moon<\/a> with her family to see CARS 2<\/strong>, noting the encroachment of certain mobile devices in that timeless milieu on the edge of Gibson City<\/strong>. Elsewhere, the Herald-Review<\/strong><\/span> reported that the AMC <\/strong>two-screen theater in Taylorville <\/strong>has closed<\/a> and Tim Cain<\/strong> believes the right entrepreneurial spirits should wrestle it away from the conglomerate<\/a>.
