Now, we scratch our heads in synchronized bemusement upon learning that <strong>Normal<\/strong> resident <strong>Paul A.\u00a0Brooks<\/strong>, a freelance videographer who co-edited and acted in the B-N horror-comedy <strong>LATE AFTERNOON OF THE LIVING DEAD<\/strong> (see item: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=181\" target=\"_self\">6\/8\/07<\/a>), culminated a year-long courtship with Aussie cutie <strong>Caragh Brooks<\/strong> (yes, identical surname; no, individual lineage) by getting hitched at a local\u00a0<strong>Taco Bell<\/strong> last <strong>Friday, January 9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Of course, the $200 ceremony &#8211; attended by parents, grandparents, friends, Taco Bell employees, and unwary customers that happened to drop in at the time &#8211; was\u00a0taped by <strong>LATE AFTERNOON<\/strong> writer\/director <strong>Jason Huls<\/strong>, who also served as witness. &#8220;They wanted something quick, low stress, and fun,&#8221; Huls\u00a0confirms for\u00a0<strong>CUBlog<\/strong>. &#8220;[Caragh] just told me a couple of magazines in Australia want to buy their story. I guess you never know what&#8217;s going to hit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>There&#8217;s<\/em> an understatement. After running <a title=\"The Brookses get married at Taco Bell :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/articles\/2009\/01\/10\/news\/doc49681e80735c5391961609.txt\" target=\"_blank\">this story and video<\/a>, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Pantagraph<\/span><\/strong> <a title=\"The Brookses get media attention far and wide :: The Pantagraph\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pantagraph.com\/articles\/2009\/01\/13\/news\/doc496bd1320a1f7015493536.txt\" target=\"_blank\">reported today<\/a>\u00a0that the self-described &#8220;off-beat couple&#8221; have appeared on <strong>CBS<\/strong> television&#8217;s <strong>EARLY SHOW<\/strong> and are invited to do the same\u00a0for <strong>THE TONIGHT SHOW<\/strong> on <strong>NBC<\/strong>. The big media attention aside, we sincerely congratulate them and hope imagination continues to play a big role in their life together, especially in cases such as this when they forego the expected and, a-<em>hem<\/em>, think outside the bun.
