\n The Word Play\u2019s the Thing<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019ll continue our survey of the Champaign-Urbana<\/strong> cinema landscape in next week\u2019s Biz<\/strong> since your humble editor has been concentrating on keeping his head above water and rehearsing to play \u201cDetective Cole\u201d in this weekend\u2019s UIUC Armory Free Theatre<\/strong> production of the 1998 drama Stop Kiss<\/span><\/strong> by Diana Son<\/strong><\/a>. UI senior in Theater Julia Skeggs<\/strong>, co-investigator of our eternal mystery on the most recent cover of C-U Confidential<\/strong> digest, stars as Callie, a New York City<\/strong> helicopter traffic reporter who falls for St. Louis<\/strong> transplant Sara (Fellow UI senior Wendy Muir<\/strong>), a grade school teacher in Brooklyn<\/strong>. One night while walking through a park, their lives are shattered after being attacked in an apparent hate crime. Directed by Tania Arazi Coambs<\/strong>, Stop Kiss<\/span><\/strong> will be performed tonight, Friday, October 14<\/strong>, at 8 p.m.<\/strong> as well as tomorrow, Saturday, October 15<\/strong>, at 1<\/strong> and 8 p.m.<\/strong> Admittance is free but seating is limited and first come, first served. We reported a couple of weeks ago that Mitsubishi Motors North America<\/strong> recently filmed material in nearby Normal<\/strong> for promotional videos; here is one completed piece<\/a> along with a companion article<\/a> posted by the Pantagraph<\/span><\/strong> of Bloomington<\/strong>, as well as the 30-second spot airing on national television<\/a> through November. Decatur<\/strong> and the 2011 Farm Progress Show<\/strong> will provide a little agricultural flavor to an episode of the Discovery Channel<\/strong> series, AMERICAN CHOPPER<\/strong>, according to this Herald & Review<\/span><\/strong> article<\/a>.
