{"id":433,"date":"2009-01-25T01:27:37","date_gmt":"2009-01-25T07:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=433"},"modified":"2014-09-06T14:58:02","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T20:58:02","slug":"get-your-americana-on-at-the-avon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?p=433","title":{"rendered":"Americana on tap at the Avon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Speaking of the <strong><a title=\"The Avon Theatre :: Home Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theavon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Avon Theatre<\/a><\/strong>, owner <strong>Skip Huston<\/strong> sent out\u00a0a reminder last week that his next series of film classes, offered through <strong>Richland Community College<\/strong>, will begin this coming <strong>Thursday, January 29<\/strong>, at <strong>6:30 p.m.<\/strong> The theme this time &#8217;round will be &#8220;Americana at the Movies, Part 2,&#8221; which will concern &#8220;any film that celebrates and chronicles aspects of the American experience&#8221; per the Head Honcho, and as usual the selections remain under wraps until class is in session!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Huston encourages movie lovers to sign up quickly, either by contacting Richland&#8217;s <strong>Jennifer Peterson<\/strong> at <strong>(217) 875.7211, ext. 353<\/strong>, or registering at the Avon on Thursday night just before the eight-week course kicks off. (The cost will be $80, for those inclined.) Make it exciting, people, and don&#8217;t forget to load up on that Avon popcorn! Except, of course, if you decide to take notes; I highly doubt that notebook paper and <em>real buttah<\/em> get along too well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Avon is located at <strong>426 N.
