No more bemoaning the doldrums of 2011 and mock-fearing both the presidential election and \u201cMayan Armageddon\u201d coming soon, for we have work to do! That includes the \u201cwe\u201d who slave away within the <strong>Secret MICRO-FILM Headquarters<\/strong> to provide <em>you<\/em> with the most informative and illuminating editorial possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">While we\u2019ll reserve our philosophical perspectives and valid diatribes for the annual \u201c<strong>In My Backyard<\/strong>\u201d address in February, we\u2019d love to give you the skinny about what specifically lies ahead for <strong>CUBlog<\/strong>, particularly during the next six months. So, here goes!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our man in <strong>Indianapolis<\/strong>, drive-in manager and independent filmmaker <strong>Tyler Tharpe<\/strong>, will begin the second year of his quarterly column \u201c<strong>The Double Life of a Cin\u00e9aste<\/strong>\u201d on <strong>Tuesday, January 31<\/strong>, by contemplating the switch to shooting digitally. Champaign movie producer <strong>Robin Christian<\/strong> will also contribute his annual, wintertime report from the floors of industry events he attends; we\u2019ll post the next one in February.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">More immediately, we\u2019ll commence a journey through the mind of Champaign filmmaker <strong>Mike Trippiedi<\/strong> starting tomorrow, <strong>Wednesday, January 18<\/strong>, with a never-before-published interview about his original B-movie play, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Caged Vixens<\/span><\/strong>! This will be followed in March by a second vintage talk concentrating on Trippiedi\u2019s first feature <strong>DOGS IN QUICKSAND<\/strong>, and again in the spring with a brand-new feature chronicling his current projects including <strong>AMBER ROSE<\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Way Off Broadway<\/span><\/strong>, and the soon-to-be-filmed C-U comedy <strong>SCARY NORMAL<\/strong> in which he\u2019ll play a lead role. We hope this will kick off a second wave of <a title=\"&quot;Q&amp;A du C-U&quot; category :: C-U Blogfidential\" href=\"https:\/\/www.micro-film-magazine.com\/cublog\/?cat=21\" target=\"_blank\">long-form interviews in the <strong>CUBlog<\/strong> tradition<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also in March, news briefs which first appeared on the original <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong> Web site in 2002 and 2003 will begin to reemerge so readers can relive what our friends and neighbors were up to cinematically a full decade ago! Later that same month, your humble editor will finally make due on his promise to reveal why April in the C-U is <em>not<\/em> exclusively \u201c<strong>All About Ebertfest<\/strong>\u201d for lovers of the movies and performing arts. Last but hardly least, we\u2019ll keep up the flow of news announcements, <strong>Calendar<\/strong> listings, \u201c<strong>Images of the Week<\/strong>,\u201d and \u201c<strong>C-U Biz-en-sc\u00e8ne<\/strong>\u201d columns for all the relevant details <em>you<\/em> need to know!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u2019re not finished with the rundown, believe it or not, for we can\u2019t forget the upcoming sixth print issue of <strong>C-U Confidential<\/strong>, the delayed print special <strong>C-U Confidential \u201999<\/strong>, or even \u2013 knock on <em>really<\/em> hard wood \u2013 the oft-dreamed eighth issue of mighty <strong>MICRO-FILM<\/strong>!
